Movieverse Runabout and Runamuck
Hello, all! Hope I'm doing this right; I've never posted a new topic before. Last year I attempted to rework ROTF Lockdown and Axor into updated versions of G1 Battlechargers Runabout and Runamuck. I was moved to do this because while I like Lockdown in the Animated Universe, I felt setting him in the movieverse was completely out of place since his alt mode can't possibly disguise him as an ordinary car. Then I remembered how nuts RB and RM were, and I reasoned they wouldn't give half a toss about blending in anywhere on Earth. The Cybertronian sigils on them add to this, as I envisioned them being some "objectionable" thoughts on humans which the 'Chargers think are even funnier since humans can't read them and simply think they're cool graphics. It was also a tip of the hat to the old Marvel Comics story in which the 'Chargers tore across America defacing national monuments with Cybertronian graffiti. Axor/Runamuck is not completely recolored as I didn't have time or equipment to properly sand him down to prevent paint rubbing off tightly compressed parts. This is only the third time I've tried customizing figures, so I'm still feeling my way along. I also wanted him to look a little crazier than RB, and I thought a clashing mix of colors would achieve that. That's also why he has more graphics. RB is a bit more sophisticated, so his graphics are low-key and his color scheme is a simple two-tone black. He's also glossed to make it seem like he cares about polishing himself. They each have license plates taken from Reprolabels.com's set for Skids and Mudflap in ice cream truck mode: 2COOL4U and DBLTRBL. Since I work two jobs, it took 3 months to find the time to do these guys, plus waiting on labels from Canada. All in all, I think they turned out pretty well, considering I completely screwed up the first pair and had to buy two more to start over with later.

Thanks. Choice really came down to these guys simply were too freaky to fit with the rest of the Bayformers. And it's a small brainstorming step from black and gray to black and off-white. Of course, the Lockdown/Ratchet rivalry is history now, so I remade my deluxe Rescue Ratchet into First Aid, which I may post here later.

Thanks. I've seen Frenzyrumble's versions - cute little guys actually. I think I've seen Ng's also. When you think about it, these guys are kind of a no-brainer because you're just painting the same figure twice. Maybe that's why they're getting to be so common.
