I've seen some amazing kitbashing around here (Mykltron comes to mind). I'm still trying to get my head around how he's disassembled a Ravage in places where it doesn't seem possible without breaking it, and then for example, added 13 points of articulation to the tail when it came with only two? How? Where do kitbashers find parts to do something like this? I've sat back and thought about mods to for example, the hands on my used G1 prime to prevent them from slipping out and getting lost. Cutting the posts on the hands, drilling a small hole, and then gluing in slightly larger posts that would fit more snug. But I've seen pictures of his work and figures with hands that have fully articulated fingers. HOW??
I've seen some truly amazing mods and repaints done that have sold on Ebay for insane prices compared to what the figures originally costed. I think I need to learn how to do this, not in the hopes of getting rich, but really just for the fun of creating something better from an original figure. I think I should start with a small project first (like the aforementioned G1 prime hands mod) and then go after more later. Thoughts?
