I've seen some amazing kitbashing around here (Mykltron comes to mind). I'm still trying to get my head around how he's disassembled a Ravage in places where it doesn't seem possible without breaking it, and then for example, added 13 points of articulation to the tail when it came with only two? How? Where do kitbashers find parts to do something like this? I've sat back and thought about mods to for example, the hands on my used G1 prime to prevent them from slipping out and getting lost. Cutting the posts on the hands, drilling a small hole, and then gluing in slightly larger posts that would fit more snug. But I've seen pictures of his work and figures with hands that have fully articulated fingers. HOW??

I've seen some truly amazing mods and repaints done that have sold on Ebay for insane prices compared to what the figures originally costed. I think I need to learn how to do this, not in the hopes of getting rich, but really just for the fun of creating something better from an original figure. I think I should start with a small project first (like the aforementioned G1 prime hands mod) and then go after more later. Thoughts? :BOT:

Mykltron will appreciate this post of yours.
I'm moving this to our kitbashing forum, where you'll get more and better responses and tips.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

Sorry bout that. I looked to see if there was a kitbashing thread but probably didn't go deep enough to find it. I've been thinking about doing a bunch of these crazy things, then saw Mykltron's version of the Ravage I had, and then realized a whole bunch of other people are doing it too. But what freaked me out was how much some folks on Ebay are paying for Kitbashed transformers. :BOT:

I did that actually, But I'm always willing to learn something new from anyone who is doing something cool. Now that I know about the thread, I can probably find the info without asking any more questions. It's just cool to know there are people already doing some of the crazy things I've considered doing.

I'm not Mykltron (and I didn't spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express!) but I know a few tricks.

There's a couple of ways to do hands. The easiest is to pick up pre-made hands from scale model kits Gundam figures are great for this, and there's even a few companies that produce detail kits so you can build more articulated hands.

Uber-customizer Jin Saotome has another method

There's also a way to make finger out of wire and beads, but I can't find the article right now. Hopefully someone else will know what I'm talking about.

THANK YOU. That is a HUGE help to me and gives me tons of good ideas. THANKS!!! Now all I need to figure out is what scale my Classics Henkei Prime will be and then I'll know what size hands to get. I think Gundam Fully Articulated hands will work nicely. :BOT:
