Postby paul053 » Fri Sep 30, 2011 2:13 pm

A lot of time had spent on this guy. Many people has done more superb job than I did here but this is what I can do. There are more detail and WIP pictures so please visit the photo set if you like to see them. Thanks for browsing.

A little mud effects on the tires.

Yes, I built him a gun. Somehow I hope I know how to make a LED for that gun.

And the gun can be stored on the back.

Weapon: Double Beam Guns
Not bad! I really like your weathering work and the muddy tires. The gun also looks great. It's not screen accurate, but it looks like something he would have whipped out in DOTM. Only critique I have is that the yellow on the swords is a little too bright.

Just wondering-what kind of paint did you use? I'm starting out on repaints and use Testors even though I know it's not that great. Nothing else available in my area :(

Thanks.

About the sword, I think it's the light as it was directly hitting on it. I was actually hoping to be even brighter while watching the poster and painting it.

I'm a big Tamiya sucker so all of mine are theirs. Only recently all my local shops are running short on stocking Tamiya's paint so I will try to start using Testors after they run out.

Cool. I think you've done a pretty good job on the blades.

I love it, man! Great job on the weathering and I love the swords and tires. Don't forget to pop the panels out on his calves and push the wheels back on his ankles.

That would be cool to see! Shame we live a bit too far apart to try. One day (maybe) I'll get around to painting mine.

I don't think the panels are in the instructions. I had to redo a gallery after someone pointed out I'd missed a detail in a transformation.

Right! I was working on my poor Jetfire but due to the busy time recently, he got pushed behind again. He is just all covered by black and laying on my desk now.

True. I believe this is something worth mentioning in the "Things your TF can do but you never realize" thread.

I posted about the pop-out panels and swivel-back wheels in that thread over the summer. I bet the toy designers get frustrated when Has/Tak fails to write up a complete transformation in the instructions.
