So does anyone know a way to repair/repaint the shiny paint on the beast era figures? I have too many that have flaked and would like to clean them up to display.

Particle Beam Cannon
It's not paint, it's vacuum metalized, and you can't repair it, you can only remove it all and start over. There are outfits like Chrome Tech USA that will re-plate parts for you.

Did the actual chrome come off or just the color from the chrome? I've repaired the flaking of color by using Tamiya clear acrylic red/orange/green/etc but like jordie said once the chrome is gone you're pretty screwed.

Use some food coloring and chrome paint. that should help.
