I never got the original mold in all black, and probably never will, so I'm taking ROTF Ironhide and making him movie-accurate color wise, because I strongly dislike the grey color that's currently on him?

The problem is, the black paint doesn't stick on well at all. I'm a newbie customizer, so I don't know exactly what I need to do to make the paint stick. I'm currently using Testors Acrylic Paints.

Any help would be much appreciated

Huh. I've not had trouble getting Testors acryl or enamel to stick to figures from either the 2007 or ROTF lines, except for the soft vinyl parts. Try washing the parts in warm water and dish detergent, then let them air dry. If that doesn't work, you could move up to rubbing alcohol. Paint thinner or brake cleaner would be last resort. You may want to try a different paint too, you might have an old bottle.
