Well I decided to ship my POL of the first 4 figs because I was growing impatient and I wanted to get a head start on identifying any QC issues now before I had 6 figures to look over and ask for possible replacements.
so far all that was wrong with mine was a hunk out of the Herc hand that comes with exgraver, of which I have just contacted BBTS about. And the already known Heavylabor leg problem.
Heres the dilemma, do I go ahead and do the "fix" for both leg issues, or wait for TFC's parts and procedure? the main thing I would like to avoid is maiming those green plugs that hide the screws on his crotch.
Has there been any info on what the heavy labor fix will be exactly?

Not yet.
I'd personally wait and see what they have planned. You can still handle your figures in the meantime, you just want to avoid posing the legs on HL forward or back.
I did manage to get those plugs out mostly unscathed (and the other sides are still completely clean at the very least) and opened it up to see what I was dealing with, but I'm avoiding any permanent modifications until I have more info. I'd hate to alter a part that's to be used with the fix, even though I doubt they'll use the pieces people are cutting/shaving. But since he's still entirely usable without moving the legs, I see no reason to act sooner.

Yea, I say it's best to wait and see how TFC handles all the fixes before destroying something.

I'm also patiently awaiting the Heavy Labor fix and haven't moved him since hearing of the issue. It's possible that my figure isn't even affected but I haven't opened him up yet to check.
I'm hesitant to make any permanent mods to a $100 figure, and I think we'll all have to wait until Mad Blender is released before we get a remedy to the HL issue.

I transformed Heavylabor to vehicle mode and stood Structor on top of him in my collection and left it at that. If you can resist playing with the guy then you may as well get him whenever you like, but it's wisest to just wait for the fix until you do anything major with him.

the most I did was transform him to combined mode, which can easily be done without leg movement. I will be able to hold off until the official remedy is revealed but it is so hard knowing one of them is so flawed.
The figures all look good current QC issues aside. I love the thick, sturdy plastic and the colors really pop. The stiff joints and ratchets are also a big plus.
I cant wait to fix poor Heavylabor and finish this massive figure...getting the final cost outta the way will be relieving as well

I'm also holding off for more info on the fixes. Btw, did TFC mention anything about a boxset?

Everyone's is affected to this point. It's not a QC issue where it's hit and miss, but a design issue. Move the legs enough, the gears will ultimately grind away.

So effectively the Herc I've jsut bought at freaking great expense is currently crippled until TFC send out some instructions that I may/may not be competent to follow?
That's just dandy.
None of Fansproject's pieces has this sort of stuff right out of the box so I'm going to hold off on Giant until someone can tell me from in-hand samples that: Maketoy are Fansproject enough to carry that guarantee of quality and that the torso guy can move his legs without destroying his hips.
It's not too much to ask on stuff this pricey.

MP Rodimus Prime disagrees with you... Of course Takara will 'kindly' provide a fix for that, too...you'll just have to buy it again to receive it.
At least these guys are providing a fix at no additional charge...
PS...FansProject isn't perfect either. Insecticon issues. Bruticus issues. ...just off the top of my head.

FansProject did have to package a replacement shuriken for one of the insects. I don't remember the details, only that I now have two windmills of destruction.
If Giant's QC approaches the MakeToys Battle Tanker, I'll buy it without hesitation. The only problem with Battle Tanker is the joints for the larger missile pods held in place by Prime's arms a re little hard to work with at first. Once you understand the design, it becomes real easy. The joints are dead solid despite the complexity of them.
Also, that replacement head was great and came with the order. Loved the option to screw it in rather than pop it on. Though I didn't bother trying to pop on the original head and went straight for my screwdriver, so your results may vary.
