Hello Transformers fans!
Back in 2002 I was a huge fan of the revived G1 comic series by Dreamwave, I collected all of the first mini series, all of war within, MTMTE series, and then they had an on-going series, i forgot which issue # i went up to, but by then i had lost interest and stopped collecting.
However, now I want to start collecting and reading again and I found out Dreamwave is no longer around and that another company called IDW?? does the G1 comics now, my question is: Does IDW have an on-going Transformers G1 series?? and is it still "active"?
also, if i missed alot of the past issues, how or where would i go to buy "back issues"? i know most comic stores only sell current ones.
thanks a million!

IDW has kick started there own G1 universe and it is very active. They do not have the usual ongoing series. They are doing them in story archs and what are call character spotlights. The first 3 archs are available now in TPB format and should be easy to find. They are:
1.) Infiltration
2.) Stormbringer
3.) Escalation
All spotlights tie into the story. You can get all the ones release prior to the most recent one Galvatron in a TPB also.
The fourth chapeter in the series is going to be Devastation and it is not due to start up until September. Currently there is a Megatron Origin mini series.
I hope this helps.

There's a single volume edition due out later in the year that collects Infiltration, Stormbringer, Escalation and the first batch of Spotlights in one book, although I don't believe the Megatron Origin miniseries is scheduled for inclusion. If you can hold off for a couple of months that should be available at around the same time that Devastation hits the stands. Either that or the individual trades will get you up to speed. The IDW continuity is a radical departure from what's gone before, a total reworking of G1, but it's well worth reading. Simon Furman's writing pretty much everything bar the Megatron book and one or two of the Spotlights which Dreamwave should of had him doing in the first place.

Really? I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

Ryall's been talking about it on the IDW boards. I'm not 100% but I get the impression that it's going to be a hardback edition, so I'm not too sure how that will work out price wise compared to the individual trades.
