Those G1 Transformers (eg. Shockwave, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Devastator, etc) are the greatest.
The G1 cartoon could have continued on for longer if the animated movie, which I love, would have gone another way.
Galvatron should have been made a separate character keeping Megatron in the storyline, and Optimus Prime should not have been killed off. They should have followed the comics.

Two things. 1 - Your screen name is amazing. 2 - You'll probably want to check out the Transformers: Deviations comic coming next year from IDW where they explore an alternate timeline where Optimus doesn't die in the movie. Just one issue for now, but I'm sure if it sells well they'll look at more stuff like that down the road.

Thanks!
Oh please tell me that in that alternate timeline Megatron does not get reformatted into Galvatron.
I like Galvatron, but Megatron is way cooler.

I watched a "Plague of Insecticons" over the weekend, and realized how much cooler Season 1 and 2 were compared to Season 3 and 4. The Insecticons are way better than the generic Sweeps. Hasbro favored the Season 3 and 4 Transformers because they created them, whereas Season 1 and 2 were Diaclone, Toybox, Takara, and I forget the last one, molds.

I always thought of The Sweeps as reformatted Insecticon clones, excuses their mundanity a bit.

As a child, I did not have the experience of having any of the G1 Transformers.
Were the Constructicons and Devastator the most awesome toy to own?
When you saw the episode "Heavy Metal War" did it make you want to throw away your Dinobots?
