What was cut from beast wars?
I have only seen the DVD editions of Beast Wars/ Beast Machines. I heard that in the US the origonal brodcast was edited for content. Anybody out there know what was cut out? Just Curious.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing about this. However, I have no definitive answer, though I have heard of some kind of "shoving match/test of strenth" between Cheetor and Depth Charge I think?
Confirmation or corrections are welcome, as I'm curious too.

Im sure there were more but the big 'deleted scene' was from Nemesis part II: Optimus takeing G1 Megatron's spark out of Transmetal II Dragon Megatron and returning it to G1. The very next scene is Optimus saying 'All as it should be' This is left in the show and doesn't add up all that well without the spark return scene.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

It's also included on the Madman Beast Wars Season 3 boxset, as an extra. It's a very short scene.
Because of the cost and time it took to produce CGI episodes back in the late 90's, Mainframe cut most of their scenes before they even reached the animation stage, so not alot of actual existing footage was ever edited or cut by them.
What was cut by the censors I do not know.

Depends on what you define "cut" as...
It was certainly written, but it was canned before it got to the animation stage because it was deigned to be too "dark" for a kids show.
I don't think it was even storyboarded, but I am unsure.

Just wondering if it was 'to dark' what it intaled.
I know it is only a Wiki page, but it will give you plenty of the information that you desire:
Dark Glass from the Transformers wikia.

Just to provide some more info here, I'm thinking the content edits nummymuffin might be refering to are the Fox Kids edits. When Fox Kids picked up the exclusive rights to air the Beast Wars reruns along with their deal to air Beast Machines, they "edited" out all of the projectile weapons strikes by inserting a few blank frames at the moment of impact.

I remember hearing they edited out some of the profanity from the original scripts of Beast Wars before it aired at all. I don't remember exactly, but lines like "Slag you" or "Slag off" or whatever were considered too heavy because they figured then people would know what they really meant. They didn't want Slag to be the "f bomb".

In 'Possession' I believe there's a scene where Optimus is starpping on loads of guns and artilery to face Starscream (immediately after breaking from his bonds). I'm not sure about the US run but it was cut from the UK run for sure.
Dark Glass was indeed a whole episode cut.
And Nemesis Part 2 was going to have Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet, discovered upon the Nemesis, revived and fighting an airbourne Ark the Maximals had raised.
Too expensive...
