i see you can buy the armada cartoons (best of the autobots, decepticons, etc.) in stores like walmart. is this series closer to the original than say the cybertron and energon series??? if so, i am buying armada 'toons! thanks for any info.!

Hate to break your bubble, but none of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron series bear much resemblance to the original G1 series at all.

Armada is a series that starts of much akin to a Pokemon series, wherein the focus is to obtain Minicons before the Decepticons do.

Eventually the story shifts away to focus more on the intergalactic war, and the coming of Unicron. The last 15-20 episodes of Armada are most certainly worth viewing, but really are nothing like G1 at all.
