TRANSFORMERS MOSAIC: "The General"

Postby WhiteRabbit » Fri Mar 14, 2008 1:05 am

The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted.
These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love.
No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

This looks interesting. Gen. Grimlock is appropriately bigger than prime, BUt prime looks like a superdeformed TF here. The panels with BB look dynamic and action packed.

Grimlock's head looks kinda... funky. Doesn't really look like him.

To be honest, I've never really been fond of that permanent, sharp-toothed grin the comic artists have been giving Grimlock lately.

I'm gonna take a shot at an interpretation here.

Grimlock's face is meant to be a Bayformer take on War Within Grimlock's toothy mug. A challenging task, and an admirable attempt. A helmet may have helped.

I'm not seeing the SD factors of Prime, but his head could be considered big if his entire chest and torso is in the pic. Looks fine for a BayPrime to me though.

I like the idea of Grimlock being a war general in the Bayverse. It would add reason to Megatron wanting his team on the Decepticon side, and their overall badassery. Megatron essentially had the support of the TF military short of the "dynobots". Notorious for thinking the worse of Prime the lines fit Grim pretty well. I prefer the comic smarts Grimlock with the 'me Grimlock' speak myself.

Me know Prime dirty secret.

Although Galvatron coming to earth does confuse me if he is the sea fairing Megatron :?

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
No emotional attachment to the characters.
Nothing memorable.
No entertainment.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this just isn't hitting the mark.
I've seen worse, believe me, but this one just isn't hitting the high points.

lol. If I may say so, I think it'd be more appropriate to judge the comic on the story than just the art. ; )

I like the concept! I was like, "What?! General?" lol. Grimlock seems like he'd fit that position. The whole Megatron/Galvatron part was kinda unclear. Interesting tho! And it took me until halfway thru the comic to realize Bumblebee was talking... like actually talking. LOL. XD;; Almost convinced me that BB was a speakin' bot now.

Kinda torn myself between BB's good 'ol G1 self and the Movie's mute BB. hehe
