To me it was. I never finished an episode. Plus they had a truck that swings from buildings like Spider-man.
I Am.

Don't listen to Sly. He's being too judgemental (and an ignoramus, no offense) about RiD.
Yes, in fact there do exist DVDs of RiD... in Europe. Due to some ownership conflicts, Rid has never had an official DVD release in the U.S.
It has, however, seen a complete release three times in the UK. The following is a list of all the DVD boxed sets that the UK got for RiD.
However, unless you own a region-free/multi-regional DVD player, UK DVDs cannot play on ordinary U.s. DVD players. They will work on a computer, though.
If you really wish to watch them, this YouTube playlist has every episode uploaded to watch:

The show isint bad.A bit childish at times but still far better then Armada/Energon/Cybertron in my opinion.
There is some distrbution rights issue in the US, so there hasnt been a DVD release in the US.

Re: does a RID DVD set exist?
I'm making my way through the series in order and i am in the middle of R.I.D at the minute. I would say it is the weakest of the series so far. I wouldn't say it is so bad that you can't finish an episode. Once you get to know the style of the show then you can still kinda get into it but i think this and Beast Machines will only get watched the once.
Sky-Byte however is a cool character and i'd love to see him in TF:Prime but as a bad ass

Beast Machines was one of the best written TF series.

One would think that that would have been sorted out by now, right? Considering that Saban has returned with their own company separate from Disney.sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:There is some distrbution rights issue in the US, so there hasnt been a DVD release in the US.
Well, we did get Animated Sky-Byte, a Decepticon poet whom even the likes of Autobot Supreme Commander Ultra Magnus shows respect to.Scourgescream wrote:Sky-Byte however is a cool character and i'd love to see him in TF:Prime but as a bad ass

And last year's Botcon gave us a Timelines/Wings of Honor version of the guy, who was created as a Quintesson agent and leader of the Sharkticons.

Yet, its greatness is often overshadowed by its odd-looking appearance. While I do agree that it was a cool and edgy series, it's still viewed as one of the more controversial ones.sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:Beast Machines was one of the best written TF series.
And RiD serves as the perfect contrast to Beast Machines. I like putting these two together because of how far away on the spectrum these two are from each other. One's uber dark and mature, the other's very light and youthful. The two are like complementary opposites.

The powers that be dont seem interested in resolving the issue.

Or rather, Disney still has the rights to the dub, and Saban's too occupied with Power Rangers Samurai at the moment with those rights recovered.

Why couldn't Hasbro negotiate with Disney to give them RiD back when they were doing DVD releases of every TF series regardless of each of those series' success or fan reaction?JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:sto_vo_kor_2000 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:One would think that that would have been sorted out by now, right? Back then, Hasbro was on a roll having Rhino dish out G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, and Armada all so quickly. If they went to all the trouble to release all these, why couldn't they work things out with Disney to reacquire RiD?
And if Disney still held a grip on it, then how did it see a complete UK DVD release (three times)?

Those were made in association with Jetix (formerly known as Fox Kids), before Disney took over the channel and renamed it DisneyXD.

The name Jetix did not come into play until well after Disney made the transaction. fox Kids didn't evolve into Jetix, it evolved into the FoxBox (which was then renamed 4Kids TV). Jetix first appeared on ABC Family* and Toon Disney.
* - while ABC Family did used to be the Fox Family channel, Fox Family did not air the Fox Kids programming block. Fox Kids aired on the regular Fox channel.

In the US, but Fox Kids -> Jetix -> DisneyXD was the line for Europe.
