OK....so here is the "problem"
I know there are multiple versions of the complete transformers G1 seasons 1-4 on dvd(sometimes + the movie) and am curious as to opinions as to which is the overall best version to purchase.
1.rhino release(were uber expensive) had the shiny foldout packaging came with a g1 lithograph
2.chineese version(default chinese language but can change audio track to english) came in metal tin with keychain and dreamwave style postcards
3.till all are one version(giant purple box with matrix on the front) 120$ ish for all 4 seasons
4.shout factory release(approx 20$ per dvd package)latest release.
those who have seen or have info on more than one version would be great. Special features and remaster quality would take top honors in the decision making process.
any help/info would be greatly appreciated. thx again guys.

Basically, no version is perfect.
Rhino DVDs are remastered, but contain new errors and oddities not present in the broadcast versions.
Shout! Factory DVDs (which are release in either individual season sets, a compiled complete series set, and the Matrix of Leadership series set), are also remastered and fixed several errors in the Rhino DVDs, but left some errors untouched that Rhino did fix for their version. And, a select few of the episodes have low audio quality.
But, the above two are probably the best versions out there. I own both and am glad to have double-dipped on them.

I think Shout's Matrix set is out of print. It might be relatively easy to find but Shout has a new boxset that collects the entire series. Amazon has it for $60 which is a great deal.

Even though it lacks all of the really nice extras that the Matrix set had.Supreme Convoy wrote:I think Shout's Matrix set is out of print. It might be relatively easy to find but Shout has a new boxset that collects the entire series. Amazon has it for $60 which is a great deal.

Yep, it's just the individual season sets compiled together, totaling out to 15 discs. The Matrix set has a 16th disc, a very informative 60-page booklet, a large Autobot symbol magnet, a large Decepticon symbol magnet, and of course, the gorgeous Matrix of Leadership packaging.Supreme Convoy wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Even though it lacks all of the really nice extras that the Matrix set had.Supreme Convoy wrote:I think Shout's Matrix set is out of print.
