No love for Dinobots?
In the wake of Botcon I've seen that some people have been told that Hasbro no longer wishes to use the Dinobots in their toys/games/whatever. This raises several questions: if that's the case, why are they featured so heavily in Fall of Cybertron? It seems the entire game revolves around Grimlock's storyline unless I'm mistaken. I also heard that the makers of TF Prime wanted to include them at some point but I know that Hasbro basically has final word in what characters are in their shows. Perhaps they wanted to and Hasbro said no? Also, is it just toys they don't want to continue making or the characters themselves altogether? Could someone clarify?

I doubt that they would want to dis-continue the Dinobots. We all love them, but you know, Hasbro likes to change things up a lot at times.
The new game doesn't revolve around the Dinobots, it's just that they're being pushed because we rarely see them anymore and they do have something to do with the storyline.
Hope that helps some!

Dinobots are what got me into TF's in the first place. Ah wel... I sincerely doubt it's the end of the line for Grimlock and his pals.

Hasbro knows that 5 dinobots equal 5 moulds which cannot be used for anything else. They'd much rather squeeze several repaints out of a car mould.

Hasbro was going to retire them because they couldn't find a place for them in the Aligned Continuity.
You can thank Matt Tieger for saving them. He lobbied hard to get them for Fall of Cybertron.

Re: No love for Dinobots?
Hasbro requires some explanation for the Dinobots to be dinosaurs (i.e. no "just because"). Certain people have hyperbolized the crap out of that requirement to make it sound like Hasbro is against them, which makes absolutely no sense considering Animated, PCCs, and even DotM have had Dinobots of some fashion.
With FoC Decepticons currently vastly outnumbering their Autobot counterparts (something like 5-to-1(!) in terms of molds), I have a sneaking suspicious we'll be seeing a certain Autobot team before all's said and done.
EDIT: 6-to-1
Kickback, Shockwave, Starscream, Onslaught, Brawl, Blast Off, Vortex, Swindle, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble/Frenzy = 12
Optimus Prime, Sideswipe = 2
I'll be very surprised if we somehow don't see the Dinobots.

Those three are remolds, so I didn't count them.
Even counting them, the Cons still got the Bots outnumbered more than 2-to-1. I don't recall that ever happening before.

I've heard that the Prime creative team are open to the idea of Dinobots later in the show, but these could just be rumors or end up not amounting to anything anyway.
But I highly doubt that Hasbro would phase them out completely. Grimlock and co. are big time fan favorites. High Moon really really pushed hard to get these guys in the game (for which I shall be eternally grateful), so it's possible that Hasbro is just scrambling to catch up and decide what direction they want to go with them.

Well I think they made a reference to them in a Prime episode some time ago about how their were dinosaurs under New York.

For what its' worth the Deceps, tho outnumbered, were traditionally military grade and 2 or 3 times the size of the Autobots, who were usually former civilians.Maybe by the end of the Computer game storyline there will be some kind of reason presented as to why so few Deceps survive (assuming only a few do).
If it's true they are looking to phase out the Dinobots, I do hope they find a different solution. FOC molds would be much more amazing than the Animated molds.
