Ratchet Rocks

Postby Flint » Sun Jul 08, 2007 7:02 pm

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted anything here but honestly I haven't bought a new Transformer in a while.

I initially wasn't going to pick up Transformers movie figures but after seeing the film I had to get some. I did recently pick up Voyager Ratchet and man is he awesome. Great poseability, great alt mode and a fun transformation.

I also picked up Leader Prime( who is equally as cool) and Voyager Starscream, but Ratchet is my fav of the bunch. What's everyone else's opinion on him?

I haven't picked Ratchet up yet, but he is at the top of my list of figures to still get.

I thought he's pretty cool. I wish they detailed his face as well as they detailed the fast action battler version. He is quite chunky looking though, compared to his movie self. he's chunkier then toy Ironhide! I wish he was skinnier like the movie version, but, he is pretty cool.

I think he is a modern G1 toy, with his boxyness.

I had to force myself not to buy him , and I got Blackout instead. If I had not seen the G1 styled version of him, I would have certainly gotten him. I picked up FAB Ratchet instead to take his movie spot. The only person I have seen give a slightly critical review of him was over at BWTF.

If G1 styled ratchet does not make it over the Pacific, Ill be duly irritated.

Ratchet's one of the better figures of the line. He might look goofy at first, but he surprises you.

I got the first and last Ratchet Ive seen. had to go to Target looking and got lucky. He seems rare around here.
Love the figure! Glad I put down the soundwave re-issue. Even though I have a few already he is always tempting. Leader Prime is an amazing figure too! The more I mess with it the more I like it.

Only complaints that I have about him are that he has no gun, but thats why you need an Ironhide to watch his back.

Yeah I wish he had a gun too, but oh well. I think I am going to pick up Ironhide at some point. He was the first transformer (G1) I ever got so he's always been a character I liked. He his new figure is definately cool looking and worthy of the name.

Later. When The first sighting of him is recorded, (usually in SA), within a month he should be all over the joint. Since Redeco Ratchet has not been confirmed as a US Target exclusive, yet Starscream and Jazz have, then I'd warrant that he is in at least 1 wave after those figures.

The movie line products have to last at least until the first quarter of next year. Cant have a Christmas without transformers on the shelves.

Maybe we will get a Santa Prime, and Elf Ratchet.

Ratchet does rock though. I like the green color. It looks soooo much better in person than in pictures/YouTube/etc. He grew on me real fast. Very sturdy, fun to transform, and very articulate.

Ratchet is so much better in person. Definately one of my favorites. I'm a picky collecter though, not a completist. If its cool to ME..I'll pick him up. He made the list. Not many of the movie toys did.

I'd rate Ratchet as one of the best movie toys so far, along with Leader Prime and Ironhide.

Rachet is very cool but it's a real shame they didn't include his gun, it looked really cool in the film.

Easily my favorite Voyager of the first 4, I can't wait for the G1 repaint. He turned out to be my fav Autobot in the movie, next to Prime.

Starscream comes in at second, and I'm looking forward to G1 styling, as well as the Thundercracker(and hopefully Skywarp) repaint(s).

Give us Skywarp, Hasbro!
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.

MISP preferred, but will consider opened NM/Complete, especially for older figures. Lots of TFs for trade! Please PM any inquiries, serious interest only!

Ratchet was my first Voyager movie fig and is one of my favorites. The other voyager I like is Ironhide (prefer him slightly over Ratchet though). Ratchet is fun to transform, has great looking bot and alt modes. I wish he was released in a different color than the green though. The color and lack of paint really hides some of the great details on this mold.

If I remember correctly, it was reported that the movie line will last through 'til Summer '08. (Which, I've no problem with.)

Oh, and Ratchet has a gun...of sorts.

Flip out the ax (but don't open it) and "aim" it forward. You'll notice there's a hammer (like on the back of a gun) and it does actually look like an arm mounted cannon.

...the box mentions it, and I think it's supposed to be there, but omitted from the instructions.

If that is correct, then it means for at least 3 months (and probably closer to 6, there will once again be 2 main lines of Transformers figures on the shelves.

Since the new cartoon is meant to start in March, we should get it here about the same time, which means animated toys will be on shelves in February at the earliest.

So we theoretically have another year of Movie figures... I can see all the repaints now...

Hoo boy. I really hope they will redo Megatron. Then I'd buy him. This leader/voyager class megatron was just terrible.

i dont think ratchet is that awesome.
in my opinion irohide is better, i recently bought blackout and man hes awesome but the only prob is that the legs dont attach well and the swords wont stay in place but i still think its a very good toy.
about ratchet, i wanted to buy him but the hands are kinda lame and the automorph is almost useless but i think it should be fun to transform and to play with but hey everyone has its own opinion!
and about prime...i should be hit by this but its just that i think its not that awesome anymore but...DUDE ITS OPTIMUS PRIME U CANT REFUSE TO HAVE HIM! lol!
maybe ill pick up optimus later...(when i get money)
ROTF Optimus Prime needs guns...

I've been tinkering on a part that can be mounted to the
"Axe" when it is closed that will complete the look the
weapon had in the film. If I can get it to mold well
I'll post about it here.
