Do you share your Transformers toys?
I was about 10 years old when I first watched Transformers...more than meets the eye. I am now 34 years old and have a 5 year old son. Suddenly, he got interested in Transformers so of course, I bought him everything I could find...including Soundwave and Jetfire. I am loving it, playing Transformers with my son while watching the old episodes on DVD. Any of you share? Or am I the oldest fart on this forum?

Lol, no, it's not just you. Last month was my stepdad's birthday party, and his brother brought his two daughters over (4 and 2). Naturally they wanted to go see the "cool room", and so while everyone else was talking, drinking, being merry, I was entertaining the two little ones in my room playing "dinosaurs" with the likes of Classics Grimlock, C. Beast Megs, Undermine, Brimstone... and the 2 year old really took a liking to Classics Knockdown. The older one loved dragons, so she got a huge kick out of C. Scourge and my Tm2 Megatron (which I let her play with cautiously, after making it clear that she had to be careful with him)... and then they had even more fun with some of my carbots, like C. Hotshot and Micromaster Swindler (rolling them along the wood floor in one of the other rooms, of course XP)... They'd ask me to transform them for 'em, and at one point I had them both sitting in my lap on my bed watching Transformers: Armada. I love it when those two come over. Sharing the joy of TF's with 'em is pretty fun, to say the least.

In fact I bought 3 Classics Jetfires. One for me to play with now. One for a future birthday present for my son. One to keep in the box.
I do feel bad that I have three and there are so many around that haven't even seen one.

I will not share my collection with a child. I have 40 fits when my husband plays with them...

Yeah, the scratching/breaking thing worries me sometimes, which is why I had to politely decline my two step cousins when they asked to play with my WST Grimlock and Slag... They weren't happy, but I didn't want to chance it. Other than that, if there's something I don't want broken I'll watch them very carefully to make sure they don't... like with my Tm2 Megatron. Brittle wings + Chrome parts = Paranoid to the max.

For fear of scratching and breaking as well as my huge explosion of a reaction I don't let my daughter play with my older ones. New ones that I can still get at the store we do occasionally have fun with.

the explosive reaction... that's my bane... break something and I hit the roof like a nuke. my neice wanted to transform my g1 original seaspray, okay he's a simple enough transform and despitre her reassurances, I said I could't let her.

I can't let my neice in my Transformer room. She is 2. Goodbye to anything in arms reach. She is quick and destructive. It either goes in her mouth or across the floor.

I don't have a kid yet (tho my wife is pregnant) but when I do I will wait til he/she is old enough (6 or older) then I'll start letting him/her play with the loose toys I don't care much about, like Armada toys. Later if he likes TF then I may start buying two of everything so I can keep one sealed and let him play with the other one. As for my valuable G1, BT/Alt, BW, and MP collection...they are off limit.

Dude, I'm the same with my 7-year-old niece and 3-year-old nephew. They love my toys and the cool thing is that he's into cars and construction vehicles so when a bot like Landmine or Clocker comes out, I get'em for him. It's cool being such an awsome uncle

been sharing my newer ones with my 5 year old as he thinks they are the coolest thing in the world. I've been able to teach him how to take care of them as well so rough housing it at a minimum and I pick the sturdier toys as well to help with accidents.
Interestingly enough he likes the classics more than the others since they look like the guys in the movie and apparently to a 5 year old that really means something

My step-son, God bless him, has no thought to transformers, he breaks them into whateva alt mode is neeeded. We had a battle once, I had to go to the rustified TF's because fighting his army of new guys was like fighting a 3rd world country.
My 2 year old is unusally careful, and rarely likes to break up things. She owned my robotmasters prime before she was a year old. It was her thing.
But the newer TF's are quite durable, so hey share away.

oh god no...
The classics not a big deal. But if my nephew got ahold of my g1's or even my reissues...i think i would
of course that would more than likely be the result of a seeker flying across the room hitting me in the temple.

Okay first i need too say that i hate kids ... i just dont like them, they bother me, they annoys me, they piss me of, they are destructive etc ... etc ... etc ... !!!
Well i would never let a kid play with my collection ... All they can reach can be in great danger!
If my new GF Sonic Bomber and Superlink Inferno was in a hand of a kid ...
well let me just say i would shout something like "Suit on!" " Pretendaaaah!" Bang, Slash, Krash ... ^^
There is a reason too i allways lock my room when i arent there ... but my mom use the room 2 ... so i fear sometimes for the worst! At least i got no little sisters or bros ... i am a lone-star-teen !!!
A geek there enjoy too be collector, and dont want kids too scrath my thingies ...
So my answer too i would let kids play with my figures is and absolutly : NO

I share the joy of my collection with my 4 year old son Daylen. His twin brother, Dillon, isn't into TF's as much but Daylen thinks they're very cool. He watches G1 episodes, TFTM , Beast Wars and Beast Machines with me. Being a father that collects Transformers I think this is great!
Of course I buy my son Daylen his own TF's and mine are off limits to him. He knows that daddy's TF's are just to look at and no touching.

Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!

i plan to have kids soon really soon but its no way that one of my kids will play with my toys it sounds weird for peoples who dont collect toys ,but i dont give a f*** what people will think ,kids play with toys without thinking of the value or price or anything so dont let 'em play with your toys . anyway my toys are in a display case in a locked room just in case my wife let her friend's kids without supervision.

When I was a kid, I shared the interest with my younger brother. Now, no one has seen my collection. If I get a chance to have kids, perhaps when they are at least 4 or 5 years old.

I make sure my son has everything I have as far as TFs go - usually FAB versions if possible. But I share too. They are toys. Except for my MP SS, my son can play with any of my whole 13 TFs.
I have the movie cast, plus TCracker. He has All the Legends, FABs (minus Brawl, Ratchet, and Ironhide which are saving for X-mas, Megatron, and Jazz), plus Swindle, Dreadwing, FB Jazz, Bonecrusher, BB EoH, Voyager Megs, Rescue Ratchet, Cannonball, Downshift, and Alt Rumble, although he doesn't play with any of the non-FAB ones really.

I have a five year old too and i always share my bots with him-occassionally there will be one or two which i would prefer not to have played with (my mps) but he is fine with that particularly since he has a couple of hundred others to choose from. Anywho, yeah i share, its tthe best way to enjoy ur collection.
The only problem is i odnt want tto force my interests on him, so i do feel a little guilty about that some times
