1/48 scale Megatron model kit

What do you guys think of Megatron model kit like the 1/48 scale gundams? He probably wouldn’t be transformable but he would look extremely accurate. Notice the blockiness of this gundam model. In a way, this gundam already has that g1 feel to it.The torso looks similar to Starscreams. I think it can be pulled off. Imo 1/48 scale would be perfect because transformers figures are supposed to represent something big and not just 10 inches. I like the master piece figures and the detail, but I feel as though they should be bigger considering their price range.

Notice the blockiness of this gundam and see how a g1 figure would be possible.

Imagine this Megatron concept art as a 15inch figure that still has good articulation and detail. Gundam models are easy to customize so you can add more details like panel lines, more paint aps, etc..

Also, bigger characters like devastator and menasor could also be done the same way. I think the key to making a good G1 figure is to keep the design simple.

Take a look at this combiner wars menasor figure. Now look at the concept art of menasor next to it. The combiner wars menasor looks nothing like how he should look. Yes, the concept art is from a video game but it is a perfect representation of a G1 menasor.

Now i'm not gonna lie, the combiner wars devastator looks amazing. The only thing I don't like about it are the arms. The arms couldv'e been blockier, but on the other hand it's a pretty solid figure.

Actually, it could quite easily be transformable. You get transformable Gundam models after all, and if you threw in screws and pins (which would admittedly make it pretty much an "adults only" model) you could get a toy just as well engineered as its pre-made counterparts...and all for much cheaper than a pre assembled toy!

I'd love to see a Gunpla-style version of the Classics Seeker mold- essentially the same but re-engineered to increase poseability and ease construction (so adding polycaps for joints and the like). It would come in bare grey plastic and would come with all the parts you need to make any Seeker or Conehead variant you want.
Ha ha Transformers go brrrrr

Original Jetfire G1 aka Macross VF1-S Takatoku is 1/55 scale. MP Starcream if 1/60. If you want a Megs kit to be transformable, you'd really need a lot of metal framing to prevent breakage.
