Some friend of mine from the Middle east says they sell G. i. joe toys and transformers there. What do you think about this?

highly plausible.
if they've got money, i'm sure there's a merchant there that will sell anything to them.
hell, when my brother was in iraq he could get ahold of just about anything through the px.

My thoughts, are that large corporations will sell things anywhere they can make money and what difference is this then them selling them anywhere else?
