I like transformers that look terrific in alt mode, and look fantastic in bot mode. That's why I have never gotten Megatron (the idea of a bot transforming into a gun is ludicrous. It's redundant! He already has a gun, why turn into another one? It's like a car turning into a different type of car), even the movie version, whereas I don't hesitate to get Leader Class Brawl.

Generally I like military alt modes. The idea of civilian vehicles seem mundane to me, except for the concept of a police car and bumblebee - the personal guardian/spy - makes "sense". Transformers are constantly fighting so it's only natural to take the form of combat vehicles. Other types of transforming bots (non-Transformers) alt modes are usually jets or tanks.

Anyhow, although it makes sense to get a Leader Class Megatron to match my Leader Class Optimus, the alt mode of Megatron is too stupid looking for me to buy it. I'm thinking - they've already made plans to make a Transformers 2 & 3 and there's going to be a whole slew of cool new transformers - why not wait until those movies comes out, and hopefully Megatron will have a earth fighter plane alt mode - like a Stealth Bomber - maybe he'll look really cool at that time?

My point is, I'm not going to collect these transformers for the sake of collecting them, I think I'll wait for the other two movies and just collect the best examples of each movie.

That said - I think a Leader Class Starscream is an absolute must. The voyager class one is a huge joke. The alt mode really looks stupid, and this needs to be rectified before any other leader class comes out! I want one that looks like an F22 raptor, not a flying brick. Starscream blended in with the other fighter planes, but the Voyager class Starscream doesn't look like a real plane - sorry but my imagination isn't going to try and fake it, and I have enough money to buy a toy that looks real, so bring it!

Simple, his power generator can only produce so much power and when in bot mode much of that power is being used to propel his massive mechanical body but when in his alt mode all that energy can be channeled into the gun blast, so it's more powerful and accurate then his fusion cannon in bot mode.

i heartyly agree i dont wanna complete all the movie line simply because i want to complete them but because i just simply know what i want and i passed the voyager starscream due to the fact that f-22 raptor is really huge as shown on a picture with all the other vehicles brawl is a must or prime but you can pass on megs...

I like the Voyager size Starscream, but you are right aboput him being too small. Blackout should be bigger too.

According to the stat cards I have, Megatron is 35 feet tall, Blackout is 33.5, and Starscream is 31 feet.

Unfortuantely not all the little kids are gona get to buy leader class starscream and blackout . not enough demand for em, some collectors dont pay those prices for leader class.

I dotn want megatron either, cuz he sucks, im an autobot fanboy so i dont like many decepticons, but i buy them all anways, other wise my display looks silly (thats my logic for ya). None the less, i'm still gona buy him, repaint him.

And of course, when the other movies come out, there will be new figures. who knows what type of figure of prime willc ome out. But I figurei dont want to wait 2-4 years just for toys to come out, i'll just get one character from each movie line that is released!

The crappy thing about collecting toys, for me atleast, is i dont want alot. I want to be able to look at my wall/displays and not just see a huge blob color.. but.. the will always make cool TFs.. so im gona have an issue in the future.. lol.

Also, he had the coolest combat scenes in the movie. The Voyager Starscream looks like sh!t. I only got him because I'm Starscream fanboy.

Blackout had more screen time than Starscream, but I think Frenzy had more screen time than any other Decepticon.

I forgot about Frenzy, but he doesn't count on account of his size - hardly relevant since we're talking about the toys.

As for Blackout - yes, he may have had more screen time, but he didn't have as many scenes. Starscream's entrance was way cooler, he took out fighter jets not human foot-soldiers, plus he jumped into the air before transforming and flying away , plus he was the LAST transformer to be seen in the whole film.

I think in the next film he will be the leader of the Decepticons then some crazy plot element will see Megatron pulled out of the ocean to regain control where he will probably take his earth alt form. Starscream probably didn't get so much screen time in TF1 because he's being set up to have the screen time he deserves in the next movie.

Plus - who can argue that he has the best alt form of all time?

Too bad about his bot form though. I would still love a really good quality figure of him, but I think he would be in permanent F-22 mode, not chicken monkey mode. Still, I couldn't do anything but laugh at that Voyager class figure when I saw his angry face sticking up from behind the tail...

I think the movie Megatron fig is ugly. I don't like the all silver color and the fact this his alt mode is an alien ship. It just doesn't fit in with all of the other decepticons. Voyager Starscream is ok, but he looks too bulky in bot mode.

I guess the decepticons lack a lot of color in the movie so you could tell them apart from the autobots. I dunno tho, Megatron's silverness just bothers me, lol.

Robovision Prime is a Target exclusive repaint of the Voyager sized Optimus Prime that will be released en masse very soon. It is not the same as Leader Prime. The transformation is different between the two.
