Were you a geek or a nerd before you started collecting action figures? Have a collection doesn't automatically make you a geek. Besides, from what I've seen lately it's cool to be a geek. Who did Megan Fox end up with at the end of the movie, hmmm?

Do you crave the acceptance of others? Do you care of the opinions others have for you? Do you feel the need to be labelled something?
In other words, who cares. You don't consider yourself a geek/nerd so that should be all that matters.
I get called a geek and a nerd by friends for my collection, but do I care? Nope.

I feel like i'm a loser, but it makes me happy, and thats #1 to me lol. I always sneak around in the stores, hoping no one sees me that I know. Nobody knows about my hobby. And I ask for gift reciepts so it looks like i'm buying them as a gift. It's a very self-concious hobby for me, but they are worth it...right?

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

thanks guys!

Dude you're putting way too much thought into this. But Megan is a big comic book fan, she is quite fond of Michael Turner's work. That's pretty hot and geeky in my book.

Nerd? Yeah, but not because i have some toys.
How do those pictures make you a nerd? If anything, you look real bad ass!

Yes.
Collecting makes you a nerd or geek, or whatever you want to call it.
The problem exisits when you can't admit it, get over it, and not care. Then you just become a looser.

Aw man, Don't be ashamed of who you are or what you like. I buy T-Formers all the time. I hardly ever get ridiculed for it. Sometimes though, I bring a figure along with me on long train rides, but don't take it out for fear that people will look at me weird or snicker. We've just got to learn that It's okay to be passionate. The only person any of this affects is you. You make yourself happy. Be proud of T-Formers. I am.

I like to look at it this way. Transformers are 1 of few things that put a smile on my face in this ever so crazy world.
One can't decide what they like/dislike ... it just happens.
I do have a nerdy side I guess, but I'm also into nutrition, bodybuilding and electric guitar. It's going to take a LOT of transformers to pull me over the geek line, but I sure am working on that!

If you have to ask, then yes, you are a nerd.
I am many things to many people. However, I am true to myself first. - Olde Drewish Saying.
It doesn't matter what others think. With the rise of the Internet, nerds, are the new money makers. And money makes the world go round.
It is foolish to think that someone is only one way. I'm sure that every great hero and fool has something of his/her childhood, that they look fondly off and sometimes want back.
We, as fans and collector's, still hold on to these things. As long as we are able to do so, some will call us nerds. I'm OK with that.
