I posted this over on TFW2005, but no one was able to help.

Is there protective case for Deluxe, Voyager, Leader and Deluxe action figures? I have a three year old boy, which is why I'm trying to protect my collection. I know hasbro makes cases for their Star Wars line and was wondering if those cases will hold at least the Legend figures, so basically anything would help!

Hasbro does not make any protective cases specifically for Transformers, but I'm sure that some-one out there would have made them for other items, that could easily be used for Transformers.

Personally, I've found putting the toys you don't want attacked by the little ones on higher shelves is more than enough to stop them getting to them.

Bookcases in particular, kids don't look at books.

hello ther i have a 2year and 3 month old she loves transformers and knows to respect and not to get into them but some kids on the other may be out of control.thats why at first i put a barrier around my display area.you might want to consider getting one of thos fence like things and really securing it down.ill post a pic later.

I understood that you were taking the mickey, but I seriously don't think it's a bad idea at all.

You'd probably want a new tank though, pre-used ones never lose their fishy smell.

Jeez guys, help the guy out.

3 solutions:

Most expensive:

Buy a wood framed-furniture style glass curio. Has light(s) on top. They start at $300 and up depending on the size,and the store you buy them at. Looks nice, but pricey.

Less Expensive:

Buy an IKEA display case that is glass and aluminum. Cost is less that $100. Very nice for Transformers.

Least Expensive:

Buy a bookcase, and stick them up in the higher shelves, with books on the lower shelves. The danger of this is I am worried if the little one tries to climb up it to reach the toys. So, I don't really recommend it, but it is still worth mentioning.

They make protective acrylic cases for footballs, a voyager might fit in one of those, I can't say for sure though.

I asked this question in the "How do you display..." thread, but it seems a little more pertinent here. Sportimus Prime, do you have an opinion on the Detolf IKEA display case? (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10011055)? I'm trying to find something with a high "wife acceptance factor" and that is relatively cat and small child proof.

Cases for plastic or die-cast model cars would work. They come in numerous sizes. Some cases are cast completely in clear plastic. Try your local hobby store or on-line hobby stores.

I like that one a lot. You can't fit too many if you have a lot of leader and voyagers, but I personally like this one. I plan to buy a couple. They don't seem to have a larger one, unfortunately.

Parents - serious question

How do you tell your kids that you have toys that aren't for them? Do they have their own play-only transformers, or are they more into Naruto or Spider-man or Bratz figures?

Sorry if this has been touched upon before, but I've only recently stopped in on the Seibertron forums. :grin:

It is a nice case. However, it is deceptively small and not the best use of space. It is ideal to use if displaying a few select large items like MPs. Leader class items would look nice in there as well. It would also work if you have a small collection.

However, I'd say it would have high wife acceptance factor.

What I would like to find is something like this case. Same height, twice the width, and 6 shelves. That would be perfect for normal sized TFs.

Well, maybe if you want your Seacons to smell authentic... But yeah, doesn't someone sell fishtank style display cases for Spawn figures?

Go to your local craft store or sports collectable shops, you can always get some acrylic or glass displays and boxes there.

Also may I recomend a small etertainment/stereo type cabinet with doors. They make for great makeshift display cases.

I HAVE THIS CASE AND IT DOES ROCK! But there is nothing to keep it shut securely.

I'm a 37 year old father of 3. 2 of which are boys, ages 11 and 4. I also have an infant little girl.

I allow my older sons to look at them but DO NOT touch. They too, like Transformers and I've purchased some for them. However, mine are MIB, and I'm teaching them to understand they belong to me and are not playable. Luckily, my wife respects this too and likes my collection.

I also keep them displayed up on a high shelf so my little girl don't mess with them.

It's hard being a 37 year old kid that grew up in the G1 era.

You're lucky you got really good kids who listens. I don't have kids yet. But i've seen friend's kids messing with toys not meant for them.
