Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus problem

Postby Sgt.Schnitzel » Sun Sep 16, 2007 2:25 pm

Hello guys i'm new here

I recently purchased the Titanium G1 edition of Ultra Magnus
and there seems to be a problem with his legs when in vehicle mode, the pegs on his right leg dont really snap well on the holes in his left leg, the pegs only go half-way not even, only the lowermost one seems to snap in to the hole The other one is very loose. As a result his back is very loose and flimsy when in vehicle mode.

Now I want to know if this a mold defect or if all them are suppose to be like this?

Should i return him?, I payed 21$ CND for it.

Any help is well appreciated thnx.

No, its a mold defect. MatrixPrime from TFWire.com's is like that, and so is mine. I think he managed to fix his, but I don't really recall completely.

the pegs dont stay together, nothing you can really do about it, besides filing it down. and the wheels dont even roll.

Well, I'm glad I didn't open mine. I was worried I'd be disapointed once I got him out. He still looks awesome in package.

I gotta admit the only time they ever look is when they're in the package.

They do tend to lose a fair whack of that charm once taken from their plastic and cardboard prisons. But their prisons are just so freaking large to keep them in...

Some of the boxes are so overdone, I keep on asking myself whether the process of packaging the figure is more expensive than the figure itself.

BTW, if you grab the back wheels of Ultra Magnus' semi (right behind the cabin) and pull downwards it will come off and you will then have a small semi truck to fiddle with. It very easily snaps back on so no worries.

Mine has a weird burn mark on the back of his right arm. If I knew the quality was going to be so low, I would have passed on it for the Ultra Magnus reissue.

So far the only titaniums I've seen worth having are Rodmius, G-1 Magnus, Fallen, and Diaperwa...er I mean Soundwave. I personally think Rodimus and Magnus are better then thier G-1 versions. Soundwave has a few issues. If he weren't so top heavy and kept collasping his legs I'd consider him as good as the G-1 version. Fallen rocks pretty hard, and he is Grimlock's Baby Daddy too.

I've seen some good reviews of WW-SS, and Thundercracker. I hope they're not as flimsy as all the other Titaniums. I bought a friend WW Optimus, and was dissapointed myself at how floppy this thing is. :-(

Titanium Ultra Magnus is a pretty cool figure, however he does have a few manufaturing issues. Top of the list for me is the fact they are all assembled with the knee joints on backwards so his knees bend forward and not backwards. It's easy to fix, just unscrew the joints and swap then to the opposite leg, but is a massive oversight on the part of Hasbro QC.

I just picked up G1 Magnus, and I generally like the Titaniums a lot, and Magnus is no different for me. I too have the floppy arms, but I can live with the flaws of the Titanium series. Hell, Soundwave's one of my favorites. Magnus however is pretty loose, and those shoulder launchers are just barely able to hold on to those little pegs. He looks awesome though.

I thought the Beast Machines Cheetor was pretty decent, along with the Thundercracker & repaints. Fallen was also nice if you super glued his treads. Scourge wasn't half bad, either, if you didn't mind simplicity punching you in the face.
