Unexpected haul (UK)

I know it's old news but as there are still people looking for some of these (and I'm rather excited) I thought I'd tell you I just picked up Titanium Ultra Magnus and Classics Cliffjumper, Ramjet, Grimlock and Mirage in Wilkinson's (Cwmbran, South Wales). I think I got the last Ramjet but there are a few each of the others left. I've never seen these in any other shops. Amazing eh? I live less than two and a half miles from Hasbro and can't find a damn thing in my home town...except Spyshot 6 who is hella cool;). Thanks for listening and if you're in the area get on down to Wilko's.

Cheers for the welcome. i'm sure yaaarl find me aboard before long. I forgot to mention that they did have one WW Megatron. When I left (shortly before closing) there were two UMs one Cliffy and about three or four each of Grimmy and Mirage. that was it in there but in the same town Woolworth's had Alternators Silverstreak and Swindle and a bunch of movie stuff, nothing really special though, Arcee, Barricade and a load of merchandise with the TF brand all over it. Also LOADS of the Real Gear camcorder guy.

I've been slightly drunk all day, forgot to mention that Woolies had four or five 'Ultimate' Bumblebees if anyone cares and has eighty (80) quid to throw away on something that looks (to me) inferior (sp?) to the deluxe. I had to travel about six miles from my town (where Hasbro lives) to find any of this...I am officially disgruntled.

I had a similarly unexpected Wilko's haul a couple of weeks ago when I picked up Classics Grimlock and Ramjet (and didn't get Mirage and CJ, which I already had). There were also some movie Legends and a couple of Tits (I think there were Magnus and WW Megs, but I wasn't really paying attention to them).

Yarr. Argos has stocked Titanium WWI Megatron, G1 Ultra Magnus, G1 Soundwave and G1 Rodimus at some point.
I hope I can find Grimmy and CJ near me.

Yeah maybe in your book, in my book the Titianiums are where it's at. Cant believe Argos had Rodimus too, I desperately want one of those!

Sorry... I meant I thought they were bigger news, because I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Argos had been getting the Titaniums in already. I got Rodimus Prime in Argos months ago.
But I'd never heard anything before about the new Classics being on general UK release; aside from import shops like Forbidden Planet, Wilkinson's was the first time I'd seen any of them on the shelves. And unlike the CJ and Mirage I got in FP, these are actually in the UK-style packaging.

This is what happens when you stop visiting Tranformers websites, and local toy shops because you are totally disinterested in the movie line.

Oh well I'm not super bothered Titaniums are pretty cool but at £15 a pop they are pretty overpriced TBH.

Rodimus is deffinutly a stand out one of the ones out in the UK, but to be honest, I dont think the Titianiums are good enough. They are expensive, most have overly simple designs, and the die cast construction dosnt really help them at all.
The Classics on the otherhand are a wet dream of goodness, cheap, well designed, posable, and fun.

Maybe but as display pieces the Titainiums were well detailed and painted and just looked a hell of a lot better that classics. I liked one or two classics but as a whole I was a little underwhelmed by a line full of the same tired old G1 homages. At least Titanium offered figures of Don Figs awesome War Within designs and popular characters from other TF continuities than just G1.

I think both lines have their own merits.
Sure, titaniums are a little high in price, but most reissues cost £15 anyways. To me the Titaniums pretty much fit in with the reissues.
The classics are great figures. Good price, well made. But the designs aren't for everyone. For some, figures like Mirage and Grimlock just aren't worth the money; yet others will go to unreasonable lengths to get those figures.
Me, I'm flexible. I have a place in my heart for Titaniums, alternators, Classics and the movie line. The only thing that stops me from buying all of them is money.
Excluding legends figures and minicons of course. I would never waste £7 odd on a POS like those.

Well for the Irish fans, Smiths in Waterford have Movie Deluxe Dreadwing, Swindle and Arcee.
World of Wonder have Barricade/Bumblebee 2 pack, Prime protoform/Jazz and Brawl 3-pack.
The Blackout (deluxe) and Scorponok 2-pack seem strangely ooverpriced, a tenner more than Barricade and BB.
Tescoes have Movie Ratchet in G1 colours.
And the Movie Bumblebee 2 pack.
Would love to know why we get the crap Heroes line instead of Titaniums.
