Release Date For The New Classics?
I know there was several new Classics discussed at the last convention. Has there been any word on who and when they will see daylight? The only two remember were Octane and Cosmos. Thanks

Octane was deffinutly planned for the Classics 2, but Im not sure Cosmos was (at least I dont remember it being anounced). I think its an existing design that has been bounced around toylines than have ended before it could be put ot use. However I'm sure however that at some point hasbro will release it, and Classics 2 seems as good as any line.

The Classic figs that they showed the designs for were Sideswipe, Sunstreaker & Octane. Others mention that they were working on or considering were Ultra Magnus (new mold), Galvatron, Jazz, Prowl, Ironhide, Ratchet, Silverstreak (Bluestreak), Smokscreen amd Blitzwing.
The release date for the Classics/Universe line is Sept 2008. So we've got just under a year to go before we'll see Classics on the shevles again.

They don't have exact date yet but the month is oct 08 so I would image that it will be toward the end of oct or the start of nov.

Actually, the Blitzwing shown at the Convention was part of Animated. Hasbro has stated that characters that appear in Animated will not appear as part of the Classics line. Whether they're full of crap or not remains to be seen.
And yeah, the projected release date is Fall 2008, probably as filler until the Animated Season 2 figures show up.

Either way, the outlook for future TF releases is good. I'm excited about the animated line and the classics revival. JUmpstart the alternators line and I'd be in TF collector's heaven!

Partially true. The Blitzwing at the convention was indeed the Animated one. But Hasbro actually said that characters will not appear in both the Animated and Universe lines at the same time. I seem to recall them saying they would like to release all the Triple Changers in the Universe line eventually. I think Blitzwing is intended to be part of the Universe line, but he won't appear until after the Animated version is out of circulation.

If that's true, then it would explain why I've heard rumblings that guys like Prowl were tapped for Classics 2.0.
Hope you're right.

With a far earlier Botcon than normal, I expect to see all the later Animated figures, as well as all the opening 2-3 waves of Classics to be shown in one form or another in April/May.
That would give us all 6 months of Classics anticipation!
