NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Government safety officials and manufacturers recalled 544,000 China-made toys and other items Thursday over concerns over lead paint.

The actions were the latest in a flood of recalls this year, and federal regulators expect more to come.

Due to recent violations of U.S. lead paint standards, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with toy manufacturers and retailers, have stepped up their testing for traces of lead that can harm children.

"We do anticipate that there will be more recalls due to lead paint violations," said Consumer Products Safety Commission spokesperson Patty Davis.

Thank goodness TFs aren't affected by this (knock on wood)... if they were, would you return your prized TF collection?

Absolutely not. Not even a chance of that happening.

Too much money and time to be spent on such a thing. As long as you don't ingest it, the lead can't hurt you.

It can't be breathed in, off of the toy.
It can't be absorbed by the skin, off of the toy.

I'm starting to see what people are complaining about, this is becoming too wussified of a world.
