It's legit. I have a set. A lot of die-cast. Great quality, you can shoot plastic pellets out of it.

Welcome to Seibertron! This is not official Hasbro or Takara Product but is legit so to speak. It's not a knock off since no other version exists. It is not licensed by Takara or Hasbro. It is done by Justitoys, a company that kinda specializes in "special" transformers figures and accessories. They have done WST (worlds smallest Transformers) versions of the Dinobots which Takara never Produced. I don't own any of their products but they are high quality from what I understand. Many people on here will vouch for them.

IIRC, there is something wrong with MP Megatron. A weak pin, I think?
Do the additions affect the alt mode?

I have never had a problem with my MP Megatron and mine was a first wave.
You should look around the first few pages of this section, there are several threads about this subject already that probably answer all your questions better.
