Okay, so it's payday, I'm at Toys R Us, and what do I see?

Soundwave! My heart leaps with joy... Until I notice the box has been opened. So I check to see if everything's still there, through the window... There's a Ravage leg floating around, and I'm looking to figure out, can it be put back on? Is the other one there?

Then it hits me: that's not Ravage. That's... Strongarm? The police car mini-con? Yep. And I look up at Laserbeak... That's CYBERTRON Laserbeak.

Someone returned it like that, and someone put it back on the shelf. Needless to say, I was crushed.

Maybe soon I'll find a Soundwave for real, but I won't get my hopes up.

Yeah, I wanna catch a scammie and take a ripe dump on their face. There's someone in my city going around buying Battlestar Galactica titaniums and then returning 'em taped back up with a cheap Hotwheel vehicle inside.

I object to your methods, simply because it implies they'll still have a face when you're done with them.

Sweet cheeses... Is it too much to ask that these things be sent back as danaged or something instead of going back on the shelves?

Today I found the only Classics Devastator pack at Walmart.

I noticed that one of the bulldozers was replaced with an unknown transforming KO of an updated Hook figure. At first I thought - hmmm, a variation (it was yellow unlike the rest).

The box showed no sign of being open at first glance. Later I saw it had been carefully retaped.

I brought it home, noticed the KO was a cheap piece of garbage that fell apart (and did not combine) and I promptly returned it to the store. I told them it was not the right part in there and the customer service person just shrugged and tossed it into what looked like the "go-back" cart.

Return it to Hasbro, they'll give you a new one... only it takes like 6+ weeks for any kind of response arter you send your toy in.

All the more reason why people should not be hired to work at a place, unless they know alot about what they'll be working with.

None of us would've let the a-hole return it...

This happen most often back during the energon series I found at least three jetfires where the guns had been removed and the box had been retaped. The other toy in that line that this would happen to was mirage which would be replaced with a dreadwing figure.

So....you expect all Walmart employees who make $7 an hour to know copious amounts about Clothing(including shoes and jewelry, Video games, electronics of call kinds, pet food, fish, tools, plants, gardening supplies, and the large variety of foods they stock...oh, and also toys aimed at children more than 10 years younger than them.

Granted, this is a Toys R Us exclusive, but that's still expecting a 20 year old kid who makes between $5 and $7 an hour to know about the very large range of toys their store sells.

Yeeeeeeeah. Hold your breath for that one chief.

Anyway, yeah. Seeing stuff like that on shelves makes me laugh.

Actually, don't. Hasbro will give you a toy of 'equal value' to the one you shipped back. And considering Soundwave was a short run, store exclusive, the chances fo you getting a replacement are zero.

No. In both stores (and most others), there are separate sections of the store, where the people who work in the section are supposed to know something about the section they're in. That's not hard. When I worked at Tower Records, I was in charge of 3 separate sections, which didn't have much to do with each other. And, I wasn't getting paid much to be in charge of those sections, but I was still able to answer any question a customer asked.

I'm not holding my breath. But, this is what makes this country such a piece of garbage. No one gets hired based on experience or knowledge. It'd just be nice to walk into a pet store, and talk to someone who has a pet, let alone knows something about it. Someone at Blockbuster actually told me once that they "don't watch movies very often".

Meanwhile, I know more about toys and movies than the people running those companies, and I can't get hired at the stores to save my life.

What in the hell kind of lazy arse shop does that? What kind of shop puts returned stuff back on the shelves? Is this some kind of thing in other countries, because that doesn't happen in New Zealand. Once they're returned, they're thrown out, to my knowledge. They don't get put back on shelves.

Thrown out? That's a nice waste of money.

If it's resellable (nothing wrong with it), it's resold. A dumb@$$ clerk isn't going to know there's anything wrong with it, and give the douche bag his money back.

If it's broken, it's usually sent back to the manufacturer, so the store can get credit, and not lose the money.

So, either you're expecting the person in charge of the section to be called up to the front each time a return is made. And from experiance working at Walmart I can tell you that's roughly 2-5 a minute(okay, thats an exaggeration, but not by much), or you expect the return counter workers to, once again, know about every product in the store.

Or, perhaps you're expecting the store to take a loss and just toss it once the 'expert' has noticed that it's damaged, because Hasbro sure isn't taking back something that a consumer took home, purposefully switched with something new, and then returned.

Eitherway, expecting the person who heads the toy section of a walmart to be able to tell one version of Lazerbeak from another is still ridiculous. Have you ever actually bothered to look and see how many different toy lines Walmart handles? And how often they get switched out for new product?

You're desire here is absolutely, fundamentally ridiculous. Retail workers are retail workers because they either can't find a better job or they don't need a better job and are just bored. They are not paid to know about their section. They are paid to assist guest in finding things and to keep things tidy.

If you want expert help, you don't go to a retail store. You go to a small time, family run buisness. This is basic knowledge every reasonable person I know has.

Expecting a retail store to give you Super-Knowledgable service at retail prices = not ever going to happen, nor should it. You're paying less for a reason.

Congratulations. You make nearly DOUBLE what most retail workers do, hence paying for your knowledge.

At that rate of pay, either you were an expert before you were hired(because you were already previously interested in the product most likely), or you've been working there for a long time. Either of which would explain your knowledge, something an entry level stock monkey at Walmart wouldn't have.

The fact of the matter is that you are NOT the norm, and never will be. It's great that you take pride in your product for whatever reason, but expecting Joey Randomkid who's working a summer job for $6 an hour to earn up money for a piece of **** car to know as much as you is, again, ridiculous.

Does being an @$$hole make you feel like a better person? Because, it's actually the opposite. Not to mention you can't effing read the actual context, instead taking what you want from it. When did I say the person in charge of the section? Never. I said I was in charge of my sections. I said anyone hired into that section of the store should have the knowhow. And, it never would've been returned in the first place, if the return people knew anything about what they're working with. I know it will never be that way, because the human race is falling further and further into bull**** (you're a perfect example of that). This planet needs to be destroyed because of businesses hiring unqualified employees, and @$$holes like you who just love to insult and belittle people, making yourself feel cooler. Kill yourself and do us all a favor.

(Now, watch, I get banned for standing up for myself and others, but when someone tells me to kill myself for liking a certain Transformer, they're left alone...)

Ah, I wondered who that guy was. Because I'm the biggest dick in the world until you piss me off. Then, I'm the GALAXY'S biggest dick! (Well, outside of what Chuck Norris has, but that's a whole 'nother story.) Now, quit letting this degenerate into a flame war, ladies. (Yes, I realise the irony.)

Agreed... this whole idea of specialized employees at an all encompassing retail giant makes about as much sense as finding a gourmet chef at Tacobell.

Unsellable returned merchandise to Target stores are donated to the Goodwill in Indiana. They then get to write the cost of the good off on their taxes.
