Transforming toys other than the transformers
Yes, i mean gobots, roadbots and all the other non-knockoff transforming toys.
This thread is supposed to be a place where you can discuss non-knockoff transforming toys, post pics of ones that interest/disgust you, or ones that you bought/got from someone.
I don't have any to show yet, i don't even know if this belongs in this forum.
Have fun.

First of all, Shackwave.
A few Gundams of mine do, Wing's bird mode and Epyon's armor mode. They barely classify as transformations though.
And I have an old power ranger toy, its like this Zord-height ninja who "transforms" into a samurai looking bot. No pics on hand though

Re: Transforming toys other than the transformers
For christmas my parents bought me the Hot Wheels version of Transformers-Modifighters...They're basically 'dream cars' such as big american SUVs, Ford Mustangs and Ferraris, with huge wheels and giant engines which become their heads. In robot mode they're somewhat tall and spindly, with the car forming the chest and doors hanging off the back, and the rear section of the car forming the legs (Yeah, way to go with the majority)....with huge flip out 'shoes' for feet.
Bedlam, the 'Twisted Maniac' (Who transforms into a black Cadilliac Escalade) is the one I managed to get, and he comes with a water gun and pump (which I've used to shoot my dog several times...Mwuahaahahahaa!
) which apparently can reveal battle damage on the car if the water's icy cold. The robot's articulation is simplified, really. The fists and arms are on ball joints, while the shoulder and leg joints ratchet. The chest can be moved up and down or swivel around at least 180 degrees. The transformation's quite good, but the doors are quite hard to pop into place again sometimes because the arms and fists are a little big....
Wow. Sorry about all the writing. Anyway, here's a pair of pictures I found which should show you what Bedlam looks like.

That would make kid of a neat transformer, if only the back of the car transformed into anything (lol)

I've never had any, but the rocklords don't actually look all that bad: http://toyarchive.com/Rocklords.html
However, I do agree that basing an entire line around them probably wasn't the best idea. A small sub-group would have been pretty neat.
Hey, do Converters count? I have a whole one figure, but the line looks pretty neat: http://www.toyarchive.com/Convertors/Convertors.html

Re: Transforming toys other than the transformers
Hmm. When I was a kid, I ended up with a whole spectrum of odd non-Transformer transforming toys. Tons of Gobots, some I can't identify still, one Rock Lord, a bunch of Matchbox Parasites (http://www.virtualtoychest.com/parasites/parasites.html), etc.
Right now I've got a small side-collection of Roadbots and a couple of Magnetix Magnaformers.

Likes jets, red cars, and big black trucks...

I'm in the middle of switching computers so I wiped all my old pics, but these threads are always fun.
But hey, Duke of Luns and DEEPWATER, thanks for the flashbacks, these where much more comon to get as a kid then the ever aweson Transformer
I mostly buy only TFs, but sometimes something is either so cool, crappy, or both that I have to get it like TITANICBOT!
These pics where actualy copied off Yahoo Images, but I do ave a loose and MSIB(like it matters) version of this figure that is so bad that I just had to do it

the convertors spies look pretty neat (they don't seem like transformers at all, unlike TF real gears.)
omg, rocklords. i once had an idea how to cut an orange to make it a transformable orange.

Holy crap, I had a couple of those! Bandit and Sunyak to be precise. I was just thinking about those guys a couple days ago, wondering what the hell happened to them. Sunyak was in really great shape too, just missing his gun. Thanks for the link
