BinalTech & Alternity lines! Your thoughts?

And for the BinalTech figures, the ones im only interested in is Optimus Prime and Nemesis Prime (Dodge SRT-10 Truck) for now and how do these guys stack up against the Alternity figures and what would be the Pro's and Cons about the BinalTech figures.
Any information on these two lines would be great and thanks to everyone out there...

As for Alternity, I recommend Megatron and Prime. Both of those have a variety of repurposing uses should you want, however, I dislike the seeker design quite a bit.
I personally do not think they look good and that there will be better designs to come.

Counterpunch wrote:Binaltech toys are nice display pieces. However, Prime and Nemesis Prime are perhaps the worst of the lot. They just don't work well as toys and have several points of poor design. Where the weight of the figure is a problem for the Alternator versions, the Binaltech versions truly suffer from the diecast as it's too much.

Thanks for the info Counterpunch, you always have great advice on just about everything and i was considering Prime and Nemesis Prime, but if there worst of the lot, then a BIG pass for me.
The Alternity line looks cool and all, but the seekers are different in manys which there good and bad no lie about that, but i might consider TC when he comes out due to the color is true to his G1 homage, but thats about it. Also you mentioned Megatron and Prime are great to have as well, and i have Prime on order through TFS, but would you recommended Ultra Magnus in this line as well? Just curious...

Agreed. Reprolabels have a nice set for repurposing the silver Prime as Jazz (could also be used with Ultra Magnus repaint?)
The only Binaltechs i own are Nemesis Prime and Shockwave, so i can't really comment on the line as a whole - however, really like both of them, especially Shockwave.
As for Alternity, i'd recommend the black convoy repaint, and Skywarp (don't have any version of the Megatron mold yet).
Botcon 2010 Scorch
Cybertron Cannonball
25th anniversary Insecticons
Lots of stuff for trade, PM me if interested.

Kibble wrote:I, myself, like BT Convoy quite a bit. I would agree his mold ranks lower among the line, but I think he looks awesome...and the whole line pretty much rules so ranking lower isn't necessarily a bad thing here. However, if you were actually looking for a Binaltech Nemesis Prime/Black Convoy, I believe you'd be looking at some ridiculous cost...like around $500 or more, if I recall. Haven't even looked at what they're going for these days as it's pretty much pointless as far as I'm concerned.
Not sure if were talking about the samething, but here's a link to TFsource http://www.tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/80/
for the Nemesis Prime I was considering for around $60.00. If theres something different please let me know.

As for Binaltech, stay clear of Prime/Nemmy as I find his tranformation frustrating, not enjoyable. He's not very poseable and just looks blocky.
As for Alternity Seekers, I posted a review in Diem's thread here.

Yes, we're talking two different things. Binaltech is the Japanese import equivalent of Alternators. BTs are made with die-cast, Alts are all plastic. Alternators Nemesis Prime can be purchased for around $60. Binaltech Black Convoy is very expensive. But Binaltech (red) Convoy can be purchased for $60 or less and looks much nicer than Alternators Prime. I was much more impressed with the mold once I bought the Binaltech version of it.

There is a trick to it...once you figure out how the arms need fold in properly, it makes all the difference in the world and takes the frustration out of the transformation. He doesn't have the greatest leg articulation, but that never stopped RID Magnus from being a cool figure! (It's not as bad as Magnus.)
*edit: BBTS currently has a BT Black Convoy in stock...$700.

Be careful with the Alternators/Binaltech line...they're very addicting. I find them to be on par with the Masterpiece line in awesomeness. The Alternity line will give you a taste of what Alternators are all about, only Alternators are bigger and have better Alt modes, in that they're more convincing. Alternity didn't do as good of a job hiding panel lines and the like. Alternators literally look like model cars...that turn into G1 inspired bots. Pure awesome.

Yeah, they all have realistic interiors, whereas Cliffjumper/Bumblebee and the Seekers Alternity figs have kibble in the cockpit.

As for the alternators/binaltechs, I personally think they display better in car mode as opposed to bot mode. Most of the bot modes REALLY suffer because the emphasis was on car modes. I only own two binaltech figures (Arcee and Battle Ravage) and it's really obvious that the quality of those figures far exceeds the quality of my 7 alternator figures. I hear the paint chips easily on binaltech figures whereas the alternators are prone to hairline scratches in the paint. I've never had any binaltech figures' paint chip, but there are hairline scratches on ALL of my alternator figures and I handle my figures with extreme care and rarely transform them.
As for Binaltech Nemesis Prime, as someone else said, he's ridiculously expensive. I have the alternator version of Nemesis Prime and love it. The bulkiness of the mold works really well for the character of Nemesis Prime, but not so much for the character of Optimus Prime. This is why most people regard Masterpiece Prime to be the "real" Alternator Prime. Alternator Nemesis Prime is one of the few Alternators I leave displayed in bot mode (the other being Shockwave) because it really looks that good. I'll include a few pictures of Alternators Nemesis Prime and Binaltech Black Convoy.

I've never heard of this issue nor noticed anything that's really stood out on my Alternators...what's different about Alts plastic compared to the plastic of other figures?
And I assume you meant pics of Alt Nem Prime and MP Black Convoy...
