From the dropdown, they are in their own section. From the Links to the Left they have their own link.
However there are some Animated figures that were released under Universe so that's where they are grouped, but for the regular Animated line releases they have their own section.

Only standalone:

Animated never had a Legends Class, and since only four molds were produced they were thrown into Universe 2.0 instead. It works out, since that line celebrates all lines, including Animated.
The Legends, with very minor differences, were re-released under Animated as part of a set of Target exclusives: Prowl and Starscream came with Rescue Ratchet, and Optimus Prime and Bumblebee came with Stealth Lockdown.

If certain toys are being lumped together just because they were in a certain line that coincides with another, why not put all RtS toys in either the Movie or Classics section?
Or better yet just clean up the galleries and list things solely by which line they're from instead of which 'universe' they're part of, especially considering how packed the movie galleries are.

Because Reveal the Shield had both G1 and Movie style toys. That's why a split has been made, since the galleries are organised by general universe first. Despite Lugnut appearing in a G1-Universe comic he has certain movie stylings, which lead him to being lumped accordingly.

Blame Hasbro, not usReveal the Shield is officially a movie line (similar product codes), but was mainly used for those G1 style molds that Generations couldn't take. Solar Storm Grappel Grapple comes to mind.
Woah, hold up! Is this based on opinions now? I would think the logical thing to do is to either sort them either strictly by line alone or by their appearance in official cannon. This system, in my opinion, sounds flawed and may possibly be subject to abusive or biased opinion.
If it absolutely needed to be based on Lugnut's appearance, I would note that many of the features Lugnut has in common with movie characters he also has in common with his Animated incarnation, the only instance of movie aesthetic on the toy I see is his slim waist, but if I were to judge by that, many other figures could be subject. But again, this is based on an opinion, which is exactly what I oppose here.

Um, no.
This site made the decision to partition RtS into "Movie Universe" and "Classics Universe" in its galleries. If the Battle In Space combo goes into "RtS Classics Universe" (and if it doesn't, that category has no reason for existing), so does Lugnut (based on the included comic).
If you're going to put Lugnut into the Movie Universe based on a subjective assessment of his appearance, then clearly we need a "Hunt for the Decepticons (Classics Universe)" for the likes of Legends Sandstorm (Universe Legends Beachcomber recolor).

What I'm saying is that the galleries are organised based on knowledge present at the time of release. When their repsective galleries were put online, we didn't know Lugnut would appear in the comic (even then it's only a cameo, which makes its validity doubtful at best), nor did we suspect Reveal the Shield would come, let alone would have both styles of molds when HftD Sandstorm (and Tracker Hound for that matter) was released.
Hell, even TFWiki has trouble organising the 2010 lines properly, and that's saying something!

The announcement of Lugnut's gallery was on 2/6/2011. The announcement for the Battle in Space gallery (including coverage of the comic in question) was 12/15/2010. Either I'm completely misunderstanding what you're saying above, or it just isn't accurate.
With regard to the "validity" of a "cameo", I guess it depends on what you're measuring it against. What are you measuring it against?
Regardless, surely there's no reason for any of this to be cast in stone. That is, as new information becomes available, it seems sensible that corrections could be made. Aside from the comic, there's also Lugnut's appearance in TakaraTomy's United line, which in every other respect is a Classics/War for Cybertron line.

In this case, nothing more than the opinion that he looks movie like, as far as I can tell. Reinforcing this, I will also note that his depiction in said comic is exactly that of his toy, similar to all the other cameos on that page that were released later and are considered part of the Classics line in the gallery.
Personally, I think they should strictly be organized by line rather than which supposed continuity they fit into anyway. Seems more of a complicated mess the way it is now. Like I said, it's subject to abuse, bias, and pre-misconceptions.

Given that, we have a standalone Reveal the Shield section in the dropdown menu, which has all of the toys.

And more often than not selecting those sections from the dropdown list sends you to a mixed gallery anyway? I still think this system needs some serious cleaning up. I mean every other website that I know of that takes photo galleries for TF figures lists them by line and nothing else, irregardless of related continuity. Why do all of Seibertron's galleries have to be mish-mashed together when no other website I've seen does it that way? Also if it's from Japan I want to find it in it's respective Japanese line, not in a mix of both American and Japanese lines.
