When the WFC figs came out I was super stoked with the look, the design, everything. I remember thinking how sweet it would be to get a whole line of game characters...well now that time has arrived and it pretty much sucks. These things aren't anything like the WFC figures. They're small, hollow, poopy plastic, dumbed-down, mediocre engineering, and even the aesthetics seem different. What the hell happened? They can't seems to get anything right either. Voyager Soundwave. Okay, yeah, it looks cool enough...but what the hell's it gonna go with? I'm fine with them introducing voyager class figs, but why Soundwave? Not Prime, not Megatron....Soundwave. Can I have my wish back?

I felt the same way when Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars were made. Some things were done right but so many more things were done wrong.
Damn you, Lucas!!!
I mean, Hasbro!!!
NoooOOOOooOOoOoOOOOOooOOOooo!
Seriously, though, I agree. For the price they're listed at, I don't think they are worth it. People cite oil prices, economy, etc. for the rising toy prices, hollowing of parts, and downsizing of the figures but...what's up with the sub par engineering? That's the one factor that I will not give Hasbro any slack for because the TF toy designers have shown time and again that they can make fantastic plastic toys of transforming robots. Even though it isn't a FoC toy, letting something like Airachnid see the light of day is shameful. Poor engineering is one thing that shouldn't be forgiven when we know things could have been designed better.

To me, the FoC line looks like it was designed to be a pure filler line and thus not a lot of time or money went into them. Maybe Hasbro isn't expecting many people to buy them? Maybe Hasbro feels it's more of an obligation to make figures to go along with the video game? Or maybe Hasbro is in worse straights that they let on.
All I know is that if they do more neo-G1 figs in this crappy manner, then things are going to get tense.

WFC is also a filler line and only contains four figures. And most of them are awesome besides Bee. DOTM is the main line and we all know what happened.
We need more filler lines like RTS.

But WFC wasn't a line as opposed to figures incorperated into another line which from all appearances, had a much stronger backing than this line.

They're not even doing the right characters either. No Arcee, Slipstream, or Jet Autobots. Refund on wish too, please.

I actually like them. I think someone mentioned how the Optimus has a 'cleaner' mold on another thread. These figures aren't as complicated, but they are still nice IMO. Looking forward to getting Jazz.

The original Classics line came out in 2005, 7 years ago. There's no point in comparing the due to all the things that have changed since then.

I don't necessarily need figs to be overly complex in my more mature collecting years (that was a great appeal to me when I came back to TFs after 15+ years,) but I do want them to be intelligently designed so you don't have floating heads, parts that don't go securely in place, or weird joints in odd spots making for wonky articulation. You typically had that kind of stuff in other lines, but it would be a figure here or there. These figs, it's like a whole line of duds thus far. I have a little hope in a couple of the upcoming figs, but the more crappy figs I get, the less faith I have any of those will actually turn out to be any good either.
Prime has wonky arm articulation and I believe something with his waist doesn't sit securely (haven't touched him in a couple weeks after messing around with him briefly) and I know the **** hanging off his elbows doesn't securely stay in place. Not to mention his alt mode is a micro machine...

I'm looking to pick up a couple Jazz' to make into Rad and Jackpot and down the line Ultra Magnus, Swindle, Grimlock and maybe Blaster but those are either just because of the character or to better fill a place in my Classics collection. The game might change my mind but this line just doesn't appeal to me and I'm both a TF collector and a gamer. And that's a bad sign.
Oh, and Classics was in 2007, 5 years ago, not the other way around.

No it's perfectly fair. Just because time has passed doesn't give them license to create an inferior produce just because it's "filler".

I got FoC Prime last week. His head wants to go down into his chest if you mess with his arms to much, which is always a problem with linked parts moving. And he's significantly smaller than WFC Prime, which is odd since in the game he's supposed to be larger. It's kind of a let down, and he looks funky with a small head. It would have been nice for him to be a voyager class.
I just got Shockwave and Jazz today. Jazz transforms -worse- than WFC Bee. He doesn't sit flush, and worse, the plastic is already seperating from transforming him. But that's my fault for trying to figure out why he won't fold out like he's supposed to.

Wait, Classics was a filler line? See....... I didn't think they actually did that line to appease us adult fans. It just wound up doing so.....for the most part......
Anyways, I'm soooooooo glad not to be the only one thinking this way about FOC. It started for me seeing the first pics of Bruticus. I was hoping for better with the rest, but it was almost an epic FAIL. I want Soundwave and Blaster.........maybe Grimlock. I need to see him in person before deciding, plus the fact that I heard the rest of the Dinobots won't follow..

Now I wish more than ever that I could have won GetRightRobot's masterpiece of customization ....D.I.N.O...........IMO, of course

Well, at least they made Starscream, and did a decent job of Grimlock and Kickback. The rest are frankly beneath my contempt.

No one seems to mind that the Classics Seeker mold is the size of a PRID figure.

That mold was an aberration though. Everything else from that line (and until the PRiD line) was normally sized.

Jazz is borderline terrible. He is proof that Hasbro isn't even trying anymore. Yeah, you pay through the nose for 3rd party stuff, I get that, but dang, at least FP and Maketoys stuff is SOLID.
Some of the Giant bots are hollow in spots. Even hollow, they have more weight, more solidity than Jazz. And these 3rd partiers require more money because it costs them more to produce a much smaller run of figures.
Hasbro has more resources. More money. Do a smaller run, cut down on the paint apps that are useless, work on the ones that are needed, and give us a respectable figure.
It's not about making ends meet, for Hasbro.
It's not about cutting costs because the cost of everything went up.
It's about making the most money with the least possible amount of work. It's a cash grab and they're not even trying to hide it. I mean, the figures speak for themselves. The quality has gone DOWN.
DOWN.
Filler or not, there's no good reason for these toys to be so cheap feeling. CHEAP.

I agree with Kibble more and more. I just watched Optibotimus' review for SDCC Bruticus and that thing is horrible.
It needs thicker plastic, better engineering and a Voyager Class Onslaught.
WTH, Hasbro?!
