Found this guy sitting on the shelf at Target today. I actually don't collect the Prime line but he seemed really cool and I knew that if I passed I would probably never see him again. Having not bought a voyager in quite some time (other then the TRU exclusives) I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was only $19.99 considering the FoC deluxes are almost $16.
The toy itself is pretty nice. Everything pegs together pretty well in alt mode and there are plenty of locking points to keep all the panels folded together in robot mode.
The only two complaints I have are about the hammer/gun weapon. The first is that as a gun it's just ridiculously large. I don't mind big guns but it just doesn't look that good as a gun either. Plus it's so heavy he has trouble holding it up although maybe mine just has a weak arm joint.
The other complaint about it is that there doesn't seem to be a way to turn the "energon glow" off when it's a hammer which means if you want to display it as such you have to either take the batteries out or drain them until they die.
Overall though I think he's well worth $20.
Oh and they could have thrown in an extra rocket for G1 sake but oh well.

Looking for the Megatron gun (or just the stock) that came with 20th anniversary MP Optimus Prime.

Oh and if you're worried about his "back pack" in robot mode like I was, don't be. It looks a lot worse in the package then it actually is because of the way hes posed.

I'm still not convinced that many of the PRID voyagers are worth it no matter how good they look. Nearly all of them, if not all of them, have translucent plastic f**king elbow joints!

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
I'm a killjoy, and proud of it!
don't take that to mean I'm a killjoy just because I can be, though...
