They are only up-scaling three of them so far, and they've modified them to not combine. So if you want an Abonimus you have to get the small one.

I only remember seeing Twinstrike and Windrazor, and I believe they confirmed it would be just those two and they don't combine.

Well, they needed a good way to reuse the Combaticon molds (aside from SDCC Bruticus, and G2 Bruticus, and Takara Bruticus...), and I think a double homage to the Wreckers and RID Ruination is a pretty cool way to go. Bear in mind that they've got new heads and extra weapons, so you're getting more for your money than the first batch. They're not everybody's cup of tea, but I think they're neat. We'll get more combiners soon, I think, so don't be worrying too much. Bruticus is their big test, and if he does well (in all his variants), they'll make more.

And, given all the variants, I'd say they're selling pretty well lol. The set is flawed, to be sure, but I love how it came out, and I look forward to them doing even better sets in the future.

I would say this is the only way I would "consider" buying Hasbro's new up-scaled cyberverse. If they 1. make all the terrorcons and 2. they actually combine. Not that I agree with the up-scale, but Abominus was the only combiner I owned and thus he holds that special place. But the combiner(s) would be the only ones I would go for pending how they actually look, not the photo-shopped pics.

Er, why did you quote my post when it had nothing to do with Abominus?

On your post, I agree with ya 100%, and it's a shame they cut out the combining gimmick. I mean, I get that they're just padding out the line with some random molds, but why not do something interesting with the upscaling if you're going to do it anyway, yeah?

Well, they're looking for some really simple molds, like the Rescue Bots, for the 2-5 crowd, and from what I've seen, Rippersnapper and Blight do some funky gymnastics to turn into feet for Abominus. If I had to venture a guess, Hasbro doesn't want to risk really young children being unable to take advantage of that gimmick, so they upscaled only the two simplest molds and a pair of popular Autobots to have a mini-line of big, simple figures.

doesn't mean its still not a bad move -plus i know they like reusing molds and this is another way they could-they could make an entire army of different colored combiner bits.
Also i have no prob with them making it i just don't really like them as much -plus the nearest place ive seen them is 3 cities over -and im more intered in getting all the voyagers right now =just got springer -ya

Which sucks. We need more combiners. But keep in mind, Hasbro has only so much plastic, and we're getting that huge awesome metroplex coming out soon.
But I find the
excuse pretty lame.We want little kids to join in the fun too![]()
Let the little kids have rescue hunters, or some other option. This is why your sales are going down hasbro. Your not being original. Just look at the recent 3'rd qaurter report

I've only seen three other kids buying transformers in the past month.
Seriously Hasbro?

Re: prime abominus
^ Going by the actual report, and not TFW's summery, it sounds like Transformers is doing pretty well.
....
I don't see why Hasbro would take out the ability to combine --or rather, the pegs and clips to attach the Terrorcons together-- just because little kids "wouldn't get it". Cyberverse are already geared towards little kids.
If anything, it'd be due to stability issues or something along those lines. What works with small figures doesn't always work for larger ones, and it doesn't help that Abominus already comes across as an afterthought.
During the first quarter of 2013, the Company had strong revenues from owned or controlled brands such as MAGIC: THE GATHERING, NERF, TRANSFORMERS, PLAY-DOH, FURBY, MY LITTLE PONY, MONOPOLY, LITTLEST PET SHOP, FURREAL FRIENDS and PLAYSKOOL .
Higher revenue from MAGIC: THE GATHERING, TWISTER, including TWISTER RAVE, MONOPOLY and boys action gaming, including TRANSFORMERS BOT SHOTS and ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS products contributed to the category's growth.

The actual report, say's Transformers, not counting bot shots, is the same as it was in the first 2 quarters. They're designed for abonimus, and not to mention the autobots in the "leluxe" scale are pretty bad also.

the problem as i see it is they have too many transformer groups at the same time -if you make too many of something peoples disposable income will only cover some of it. i think the biggest thing is that they have the generations line and the prime line running at the same time as bot shots cyberverse and everything else. there are just too many items plus look at how stores display this stuff -a good chunk of the space is being taken up by the cyberverse stuff. which there is a lot of people around here don't buy it as much espically when a 8 dollar figure is about half the size of a 12 dollar figure and has better engineering

Or perhaps they're just not going to upscale all five of the minipredacons so why bother accounting for a gestalt if not all the parts are going to be made.

NO

Is the shockwave cyberverse better than the voyager?
NO

it is a slight improvement -doesn't help that we can't find the ones from then that we passed up -also why the prime voyagers are 4 dollars cheaper then the generations ones -totally baffles me.
and im really sick of seeing so many bloody cyberverse figures -these things are what i think is keeping target in my area from restocking -they still have a prime jazz and shockwave from a year ago. The biggest annoyance is that while we got springer and sandstorm no blitzwings =when ever i think i know which one is going to be hard to get they completely change the game up to the point im totally lost

The only Jazz toy on shelves right now is the Generations one, unless you mean the Prowl redeco of Legion Smokescreen, which is from this year. Ditto for Shockwave, these toys cannot possibly have been on shelves for as long as you say.

He's somehow confusing the Cyberverse figures with Wave 1 of FoC deluxes, I think.

Somehow I forgot there even was a FOC Shockwave, even though he's the only guy in the first two waves I bought. Durrr.
Well the reason they seem to be sticking around is partly because the stores still have wave 1 cases in the back, and partly because later waves also pack in some of the wave 1 figs. Those figures have probably not been sitting there since last September.

no i am not confused you are missing what im talking about. im talking about last years first wave of generations figure prime jazz and shock wave were in it. Im saying that the excessive number of cyberverse figures is keeping them from restocking deluxe figures here. Please ask me before you try telling others what i mean. the cyberverse figures don't sell as well as the deluxes and they choke the shelf space so the other sizes don't get restocked -espically when there are 10 bumblebees.
