Check for the copyright/trademark stamp...

I'm not sure if the HASBRO re-issues were a little different than the G1 vintage in the areas you mention, but it is likely, as not tha they made that little asthetic change.

I have the Hasbro TRU reissue, and I have a light grey plastic hook, and a slightly darker grey support pole. A friend of mine has the original with the chrome painted hook and support pole. His Hook has flaked off some of the chrome paint, and it is a similar grey underneath too.

but what is your date stamp? if mine was a reissue wouldn't it have a date stamp that wasn't 1980,1982?

My re-issue have a 1980 1982 date stamp. Looks like yours might be a re-issue.

ok here's a good way to test it, what colour are your Grapple's eyes, and was there an autobot logo on his chest that wasn't a sticker?
