I have a question about the reissue Starscream?

Postby Commander Optimus Prime » Wed Jul 04, 2007 1:25 am

Hi I was working on a custom seeker I am making using the Japanese reissue Starscream (the first reissue in the toy accurate colors) as a base. I have 3 copies of this figure one unopened one opened and on display and the figure I am working on my question is was there a mold change in the pegs used for the wings?

The original G1 Screamer had short pegs on the wings. So that when you fit the wings in the holes on the fuselage there is no gape between the wings and fuselage. The G2 Screamer had longer pegs so when the wings where fitted there was a gape. Make sense?

My first Starscream reissue (the one on display) didn't have this gape but this Screamer I am working on does am I just imagining this or was there a varient? Anyway to solve this problem I plan to sand the pegs on the Starscream I am working one.

If your curious the figure I am making is grey, back and red. I am using the color template of prototype Skywarp as the base. To make this figure I am using reissue Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and G2 Starscream. Its not a big difference but I think it will turn out cool.

This project started out because I wanted to make a prototype Skywarp. Uusing a Thundercracker it is possible to make one but I soon realized that getting the purple missiles would be to problematic (have heard rumors they do exist but I haven't seen any). I could paint some Statscream missles purple but it would not look that good.
