idw transformers as toys
- Weapon: Thermal Sword
ok so the next wave or two of transformers all look like or similar to their idw versions. as their packed with a comic it makes sense but here is the 30 million dollar question is this going to continue. We have tailgate, swerve and other characters who haven't gotten a good figure in a while-that are more that a repaint. And i start asking myself what figures do you think might becoming next? Also a fair number of beast mode transformers skybite and rattrap plus of course waspinator are showing up could we see more beast mode transformers in our toys and comics?
Plus with whirl coming out and the headmaster characters in the comic a fair bit think there is a chance of a remold of it into highbrow as he is in the comic?

For me, I'll be picking up:
Legends: Tailgate and Cosmos
Deluxes: Waspinator, Mini-con combiner, Skywarp, and Armada Starscream
Voyagers: Rhinox and Whirl
They all look AMAZING and I can't wait to see what else is coming down the pipeline!

If they keep making 'em, I'll keep buyin' 'em. I don't even read the comics, but I LOVE the IDW designs and will buy every figure based on them.

so who do you think should be next-personally i want to see the headmasters because its about bloody time they got another figure -hard heads doesn't count as its a repaint and you have to buy the head robot kit to make it hard head
also i would like to see some more of the cons -like snaptrap and his team i want to see them combine into peranacon or god neptunie -either way its possible -they have an extra team mate so even with out nurilator its possible we could see him

I am glad that they are coming out with Skids.. For some reason he was one of my favs from back in the early Marvel days.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

skids kinda was the but monkey of the uk he got written out early by galvatrons arrival -mass displacement. when a transformer in the uk comics traveled back in time a transformer in that time period was sent to a void between reality to keep the universe balanced. I read in some other scifi story and it makes sense to me that the universe is balanced for the amount of matter in it -so if you add matter it throws the system out of balance. Which is a major plot point as 2 transformers bypass this rule and it causes a major distortion in space time. At any rate -with these recent characters getting their own figures i woulder who is next any bets.

Don't count on Hasbro to make actual Headmasters, they may make the character but it won't come with a separate figure. The reason for this is that once kids lose the head figure, then the TF's playability factor drops severely.

You and me both. However I suspect we won't get anything like them from Hasbro that isn't in Kreon form. I think we may be waiting on 3rd parties to give us one.

Also, the fig that becomes the head might become a choking hazard, especially if the ball-jointed limbs come off.

I want a god damn Voyager pre-Earth Megatron.
And I don't mean the Megatron Origins version, I want the damn awesome body he had before he took a gun as an alt-mode.
Why doesn't this exist yet? It's the coolest design G1 Megatron has ever had.

You guys know Hasbro has done Headmasters before right? Energon Omega Supreme was a Headmaster (though the Platinum version lacks his Mini-con buddy, in favor of improving the standard head). Armada Overload and Armada Sideways were also headmasters. They could easily do them in either deluxe or voyager scale.

I'm aware of it. However those toys were produced almost 10 years ago, so they've had time to re-evaluate their design process. Also, Side Swipe (and his later wasp-like repaint) had a head, so losing the minicons wouldn't impact to heavily on play, and you said it yourself - Omega's head is now firmly attached with his re-release.
I'm just parroting what Hasbro said when they revealed Cyclonus for the first time; that they wanted a figure to maintain playability. Losing the head figure means that the main robot would not have a head and thus lose its playability status. Losing guns and whatnot have minimal playability impact.

That's true, but maybe they'll pull a Sideways again anyway? One can hope. The original Energon Omega Supreme had a head too, by the way, it was just smaller and...weird.

side ways and overload were both good figures -though sideways has a good trick to the problem of loosing the head unit -give him a head that can be switched in -acutally this is a great way to make the legend class figure useful. ,make them alternate heads each with different abilities or better yet stats -like how those bot shots work. make the head master units clip into the chest and change the stats of the figures like the originals did

Since Hasbro did Generations Scoops as a double Targetmaster, I have some kind of hope for more targetmasters/ headmasters.
