Dinobot v.s. Spiderman

Postby AxiomScion » Wed Mar 07, 2007 6:42 pm

It's the organic Dinobot from call/code of a hero against a not so friendly neighborhood spidey.

Remember the new maximal is about the same size as the Lizard.

true dinobot did score a huge win over megatron, but megatron was hardly expecting the attack, so his guard was down. and stark may be an alcoholic fanatic, but hes an alcoholic fanatic with really really big guns and nearly indestructible armor.

dinobot is durable and strong, but i dont think he approaches spider-mans strength. dinobot has some pretty cool strength feats, but the current spiderman can benchpress around 30 tons, a bit more than i can see almost any beast wars characters doing. plus his speed is enough that he can dodge bullets, and he can sense danger before hes actually in danger. and although he shoots directly out of his eyes dinobot has never proven to be a great sharpshooter, so i think spiderman can evade him for at least a short time.

in close combat dinobots sword and "shield" might be some trouble, but spiderman would still be reasonably effective. hit and runs are spidermans speciality, bounce around and take short sharp shots when his opponent leaves themself open for it, which considering his speed is almost unavoidable.

so while dinobot is skilled, hes not skilled enough to take someone of spider-mans speed, strength, and skill. spiderman might have a bit of trouble getting close, but he will do it, and he will rain down several 30 ton punches on dinobot before he knows what hit him. and things that weigh alot less have been shown to damage maximals and predacons. id give this fight to spider-man 8 or 9 times out of 10.

Super heroes are overrated.
Dinobot takes the cake

Without armor, I think the current Spider-Man can bench 15 tons, up from the 10 tons he could bench before The Other. Still more than a normal Predacon/Maximal could do though. And of course the Stark-Armor or Symbiote boosts that further.

I gotta think Dinobot is roughly equivalent to Captain America actually, so I think a Dinobot versus Spider-Man would go very similarly to Captain America versus Spider-Man. Worse maybe, because though Dinobot is stronger than Cap, he's also slower.

That's not to say Dinobot couldn't win, just that it would take some creative writing to pull it off.

Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon
Dinobot could pull this off pretty easily, he'd only need to fry Spidey's head off with his eyelasers.

Spidey can dodge bullets, but he can't dodge something at the speed of light.

Going by the show, Dinobot's optic "lasers" don't travel the speed of light - in fact, they appear to be subsonic, as the human eye can see the beam propagating. And they never seemed to do that much damage.

can you imagine a cartoon where they actually fired lasers at the speed of light though, it would look like kids horsing around with toy guns.

It depends on which version of spidey it is.

Movie Spidey (tobey maguire version): Goes to Dinobot. Spidey just isn't fast enough to dodge chopper face's sword attacks.

The cartoon spidey from the 90's: A better skilled spidey with more experiance and greater inginuity. This could go either way.

Sorry, don't know enough about the other versions of him.

Although remember: Spidey would not use leathal force unless neccessary. Dinobot would have no such compassion. And he has the strength to force his sword through INferno and down to his waist (code of hero). That has to take some force.

Sadly, Spiderman is biologically impossible. He would break his bones if he did any serious stunts. Bones can only reach a certain strength with terrestrial biology. If Spiderman lifted a heavy weight with his (feasibly strong) muscles, his major bones would break. He'd be out of action for several weeks. He could try to fight but Dinobot would win in the end.

I think that, in the Marvel Universe, the radioactive spider venom (from the original bite in the 1960s) somehow transferred nuclear power to Peter Parker's entire body. It made every part of him stronger and tougher. That's never explained in the stories. It wouldn't work in a realistic environment.
