Kinda cool but Im so tired of seeing autobots get a black and purple paint job to become decepticons. Who invented the whole "Nemesis Prime" concept anyway ??? I think its a silly way to create repaints...

In actuality, the black and purple paint scheme has only been on an Autobot once before, and that's Shattered Glass Optimus Prime, who technically is never a Decepticon.

If you're referring to a paint scheme that we've seen far too long than that's black and teal, not black and purple.

As for who started the evil redecos, I believe the first one was Black Lio Convoy, but it was Car Robots Black Convoy/RiD Scourge who popularized the trend.

This may be the first Henkei exclusive I end up getting (despite Gentei being proliferate in my neck of the woods). I hope it's around $50.

I managed to get Dirge for around $40...but I doubt a Gentei Voyager would be so cheap...

Ack...

...and I feel this is 'the mold' for me... y'know, the one which you collect all iterations of because you dig it so muchy. Still, $95 isn't so bad... hanging around the shelves here are $100 Ghost Starscream, $100 Strafe and $140 for the pair of Dirge/Thrust. Looks like it may figure out to just under $80. :-?

Y'know, the very first post has a link to Robotkingdom which has him for $34.90 and a shipping (for me at least on the east coast) is $15.87, which brings to a total of $50.77.

I'm really hoping BBTS drops the price. I'd prefer to buy from them, but not pay double after shipping.

Yeah, shipping is a killer. My shipping cost would be around 90% of the fig's price. (:|

Not to mention our crooked customs bureau would probably hold it hostage if not outright steal it.

I think Skyfire looks much cooler in black than he did in grey. A combination the Nemesis Prime story line the Botcon genius that was the Shattered Glass set is why there are so many dark repaints of autobots (although Cyclonus is the only decepticon I can think of that they've done it for).

I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Trypticon like Grimlock just like the set as we've already had Nemisis Prime and Hot Rod/Wildrider. For some wierd reason the black Prime and all these shadow/dark figures like Shadow Commander, Hot Rod, Grimlock, Jetfire makes me think a Transformers version of Hulk Hogan and the nWo. Strange I know.

I have no idea how Robot Kingdom are able to sell Skyfire for so cheap because that's almost $10 cheaper than the price on ToyHobbyMarket and as it's been pointed out it's much cheaper than BBTS. I ordered 5 (1 for me and 4 to sell as part of a set with Henkei Jetfire of whom I also bought 5 (1 for me again) probably on Ebay.
