Definitely the weight/ratio of the value a TF does it for me. Recalling all my old G1 TFs (rest their poor abused souls). But as of lately it has to be done well, not much a fan of the chunkiness especially with all the great technology that exists today.

Having just gotten Warbot Defender, I must say they did an EXCELLENT job at using the die cast. Not only is it in places that help the stability of the model with its mass, it also uses plastic inset connectors for the transform, so the die cast never rubs against die cast.
