Wow... they turned Prime into an Insecticon... nice job....
Also for $80 they could at least throw a little paint on the wheels. WTF?

Re: Transformers 3 Optimus Prime toy!
Ok. I'm surprised no one has said anything about his waist in combined mode. Sure, the motionless legs and brick arms are the more obvious architectual issues, but look at the damn waist piece. Movie prime has a very angular trim look to him. When they bulk up the waist section with no addition to the chest piece, it makes him look bloated and awkward.
While I still hold out hope that this is mistransformed, my hopes for that are low, given that the photos look like box art rather than in-hand. This isn't to say box art has never been wrong, but I still worry.
In looking at how the legs combine, I definitely see potential for a knee articulation, if the figure is, in fact, transformed incorrectly. the foor is rotated 90 degrees to fit into his leg-glove, so another 90 degrees doesn't seem impossible. this, of course, is assuming the scaffolding can be moved off of the legs.
All in all, I doubt I'm going to like the actual product much more than I like this...this. But I hold out hope for a leader class figure of some sort.

Well I checked TFW2005 and it seems there's a Japan exclusiveLeader Class Optimus figure coming out in July that has armor parts. No clue what it looks like though.

Hasbro needs to focus on quality rather than silly gimmicks.(They improve upon Star Wars every time, so what gives?)
This DOTM line is taking a step backwards. But as long as they sell (which they most likely will) to the young'uns of the target customer, it'll be fine(!)
Really hope this isn't the one we've heard will have motion-sensors and such! (If it is, oh dear...)
MOTION SENSORS
How did i miss that?
is it true???
Yeah, http://www.tfw2005.com reported. (It was either in the initial announcement of the figure, or the German toy fair reports...Can't remember which...)

I've been compiling a scale list (largest to smallest) of the Film Transformers based on; vehicle/alternate modes (with the best dimension data possible), as many official charts I could find & most crucially, the figures I actually own & desire! If anyone would like a bit of assistance in scale or would simply like a peek at the list, do say so! ^^
(Also been working on something big; I'm a writer, so that's a clue...

This can't be the "ultimate" Prime with a trailer. This can't be the only Prime with a trailer. Please. That seriously can't be the best they can do.....right?
Something just doesn't seem to jive here. $80 for a voyager and trailer...that's $60 just for the trailer. A $50 Leader class and a $30 trailer makes more sense to me. But the truck is WAY too small for the trailer. I just don't get it.
And wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper for them to rerelease Battle Blades Prime or even RotF Leader Prime with a trailer, rather than a new mold? And look at that Armada-ish Autobot symbol on the trailer; it's one big, red splat.
I'm hoping this is the lesser, cheaper, kid-friendly version...and that there will be a much better Prime with trailer later on. Otherwise, my DotM budget will be $0.

The only mode that has any appeal is the vehicle mode. Otherwise, it's a pass. I'll be getting a Megatron, but this is just offputting. My GF loves it, however, so there'll probably be one in the house anyway...

Re: Transformers 3 Optimus Prime toy!
Wait a minute here...
2007 Prime: A nice first try, with an interesting transformation that results in a not completely movie accurate but still awesome and impressive robot mode.
2009 Prime: Thought that last one was good? Well you were wrong cause this is the most amazing transformer PERIOD. Aside from the poor sword gimmick design and some other small, easily overlooked inaccuracies, this IS movie Prime.
2011 Prime: Remember the accuracy? remember the cleverness of the transformation? Yeah, forget all that cause this ones arms are simply the front of the cab split in half. Any innovation is gone, and replaced with a gimmick that turns an ugly toy into a bigger even uglier toy.
I am so disappointed. After seeing what they did with ROTF Prime, I was excited to see how much better they could do this time... and they failed, big time. For once I will not be buying the Prime figure for a toyline. Well, at least I'm saving some money this time around. *sigh* Hasbro, I really hope you learn from this and can redeem yourselves, cause this whole line is generally terrible.

Yeah, I also think I will pick up a battle blades Prime to go along with the new Megatron Tanker.

I still believe Hasbro feels this is the last hurrah, so they're phoning it in on this one.

I hope you're right. After thinking about it, I think this Prime is just there to be paired with the Megatron we've seen already. That also looks like a Voyager size vehicle turning into a leader-size robot because of the tanker. Maybe there's still at least a bigger Prime coming along, perhaps to match up with a Leader Shockwave, or even a Leader Megatron. We can only hope.

Everything abuot this is sucky. Even in vehicle mode it looks pretty lousy. I don't know where to begin with the wings. WTF? Thanks for helping me save some money Hasbro.
