Welcome to the General Discussion area where just about anything goes! This area is designed to discuss all matters and does not necessarily have to be Transformers related. Please keep topics relevant.

As someone who has, over the years, done a metric shitload for the fandom, I have to admit that I never saw it as a REQUIREMENT in order for me to speak my opinion on something. In fact, I always considered it a bit silly.

Just pointing out, what you quoted above by CP was actually a quote by Shadowman earlier, and apparently CP didn't put the quote designations in the right place. Just to be clear.

Yea, I don't know what happened there. I went back and fixed it all.
To clarify, I was in
no way asserting that you had to do something for the fandom to have a voice in it. I agree with Jaynz.

What are
you doing for the fandom? Ask yourself that before you start asking it about other people.
By that extension, no one should be allowed to question or criticize anything.
At what point does a person's "contributions" equate to a voice in the discussion?
Come on...

I'm not sure if you've caught my point. But your second line is actually fairly close to it. Replace "discussion" with "fandom" and that's pretty much it.

Everyone should be allowed to express their opinion regardless of their contributions and as long as you collect Transformers I feel each of our opinions is equal to another as far as the fandom as a whole goes.

THAT is my point. Criticizing someone because you don't think they've contributed enough to the fandom is just silly. Especially when we're talking about someone who helped build the TFWiki.

On the other hand, his contributions don't make his opinions more valid than anyone else's, either.

I think we're all debating the same point and all agree with that statement.

I should have quoted more than the last three sentences last time.

You've made your point whether we all agree or not. At this point, I think you're just instigating the situation.

At this point, I'm of the opinion of the fact that it's a frikkin comic that happened to use an image on this site.
I don't care what that guy think of Seibertron or whether or not he helped make the TFwiki. I don't even care that he likes to bash other sites for the fun of it.
What matters here is that the fandom is on the same wavelength here on what the new Motormaster mold should have been and that this guy guy advertised it. Then stated that he was going to like the poor mold choice because everyone else decided to throw a crap storm of opinions over the matter. Okay, I do that to because I can find something good in every figure I own.
You guys have to admit that this is a pretty silly debate when we take into account that this is over a comic meant to entertain? He's basically doing the same thing the TF franchise does which is to entertain.
Granted yes, he might have been inconsiderate of the fact that he might piss off some people on a website, but so what. This is the web. People are more vocal on the web than they are in real life so you're going to finded jaded opinions whereever you go on the web. This guy just happens to be able to be more vocal about it due to his website.

What are
you doing for the fandom? Ask yourself that before you start asking it about other people.

That's what I was getting at.

I am soooo tempted to return to my days of being a troll.
However - I do agree with Seibertron, Counterpunch among others that all voices in the community are no more or less important than others on matters of taste.
Can I start trolling again now?
