Does G-1 updated new molds in AEC,animated, movie verse count less or not at all compared to classics
Does G-1 updated homage new molds count less/not at all in AEC,animated, movie verse compared to homages in Classics/generations/RTS?
Does it have to be in the fan catered TF toy lines to count like Universe, Classics, generations,RTS.
Do you not count or count less all the G-1 updated homages from Rid,AEC,Animated,Movie verse,Prime,Titanium 6 inch,Alternators,etc...
Personally I count all TF toy lines as having some decent G-1 updated homage new molds.
It makes ZERO SENSE to just count the fan catered TF toy lines. Because classics, generations & RTS appear to also be in a SEPERATE ALTERNATE TF UNIVERSE/REALITY. their clearly not in the 1980's G-1 same universe/reality.
Personally I think various other TF toy lines created a great number of decent G-1 updated homage new molds that deserve to get acknowledged & not partial acknowledgement that fairs less than classics/generations/RTS.
The TF toys that I feel deserve full acknowledgement of updated G-1 homage new molds is as follows: Rid super sized Ultra Magnus,Titanium 6 inch new mold G-1 Ultra magnus. Titanium 6 inch rodimus prime. Titanium 6 inch scourge. Armada supreme sized Unicron,Cybertron leader sized Metroplex. Energon Ultra sized Scorponok. Animated Arcee. Cybertron voyager sized MTMTE Cybertron mode seeker jet toy mold. Animated Wreckgar, alternators prowl, alternators rodimus, alternators ravage,etc....

Oh boy, here we go again.
People buy what people want. Some collect lines and use the toys to represent the character from the show. For example Animated characters only representing Animated and G1 only representing G1.
Other collectors buy whatever and create hodge podge lines to create the world they want. Counterpunch wrote an article on this a while back, jut can't find it at the moment.
I for one like to display my stuff by set. I keep thins organized that way.
Basically, do what you want. It's your collection.

Isn't that a personal thing?
Personally I just put stuff together from the same toyline. ROTF goes with ROTF, Animated with Animated and so on. Wether or not they're hommages doesn't really matter. They're sharing the shelf if they share a cartoon.
There are some exeptions. I think just about anyones can guess where my HtfD Seaspray went instead.

I don't like mixing lines because I don't think the aesthetics match. AEC isn't far removed from G1 in terms of blockiness but I think the toys just suck. That's not necessarily the opinion of everyone else.

Well, I must admit that Energon Downshift has been my stand-in for Wheeljack for the longest time and that's worked. I was always a little put-off by his lack of useful leg articulation, but the look was right. Now, however, that Generations has come out with a Wheeljack toy, the stand-in is no longer needed. I do still have figures from other lines representing characters for my Neo-G1 shelves, though.
Examples include:
Cybertron Armorhide as Huffer - Sure the colours say "Pipes" but that face is Huffer's and nobody else's.
HFTD Breacher as Roller - Granted the otiginal Roller never had a robot mode, and was little more than a drone for Prime's trailer. But I see Breacher's vehicle mode, and it's small, blue and six-wheeled enough for me to say he got upgraded to his own seperate 'bot.
Titanium Scourge as Scourge - Kinda a given since I still don't own Generations Scourge (on my "To get when not completely broke" list along wiht RTS Jazz, Wreck Gar and Tracks)
Generations Cybertronian Soundwave as Soundwave - Yeah, technically from one of the "fan catering" lines, but still it's video game version Soundwave, I am using him to represent Soundwave in general on my shelf.
There were more, but they've since been replaced with versions that fit the more cohesive theme of the shelves, for example:
Cybertron Brakedown GTS as Kup - Since replaced by Generations Kup, who's head has been replaced with iGear's cy-gar head
The aforementioned Downshift as Wheeljack, since replaced with Generations
Universe Dirge (Voyager class Cybertron Starscream repaint) as Dirge. Since I now have Generations Dirge, Universe Dirge has been repurposed as Triggerhappy. Still need a Blowpipe for him, tough...
That's about all I can think of off hand... way too tired to keep going on...

I too used to use Energon Downshift as Wheeljack ... think many of us did. Watch his ebay prices plummet now!
But, yeah. It's all up to you. Even the 3rd party dudes don't always nail down the aestetics and even within the classics series the aestetics have changed, so it doesn't bother me at all to mix lines.

well I display by series but its up to yourself as far as what counts or doesnt.
for instance I have Energon Inferno in my CHUG display as Hoesehead- well...I also use NEST Brawn as Classics Rollbar.....and Fallback as Classics Outback.other may not think so though.
for instance someone said her ethat they prefered Animated Blurr in their Classics lineup instead of the CHUG Blurr we got.thats not for me but that fella seemed pleased with it.
its up to yourself really.

Re: Does G-1 updated new molds in AEC,animated, movie verse count less or not at all compared to classics
When I created this thread I wasn't referring nor asking what TF toys should be placed on what display shelves.
I was merely asking what AEC,Animated, movie verse & rid toys does everyone consider decent G-1 updated homages.
I was also asking how everyone rates AEC as homages compared to the fan catered lines like classics, generations, rts & universe. does one line get more homage preferences while the others mean less.
I also try to display my various TF toy lines by cartoon/toy line theme.
Not everything needs to be on a CHUG/Classics shelf to count/register as a G-1 updated homage new mold.
Not everything needs to be in the same Design/artistic toy style/shape to be considered a G-1 updated homage new mold.
I personally think every TF toy line has decent G-1 updated homage molds. I don't go around omitting TF toy lines because their in didfferent universes, different design shapes, don't look good on CHUG shelves.
Like I said in my thread starter. the classics/generations/RTS TF toy lines are also in a different alternate universe reality than the G-1 1980's toy line/cartoon series. so saying AEC is in a different alternate universe & counts less as having G-1 updated homages molds makes zero sense & sounds less informed.
Here's a small list of G-1 updated homage new molds from every TF toy line that I think make decent G-1 updated homages:
Botcon Cyclonus,Botcon sideswipe, botcon sunstreaker, Rid Prowl, Armada Unicron. armada thrust, armada blurr. energon 5-in-1 combiners. super link springer/sprung. energon rodimus. energon slugslinger. botcon energon ironhide & ratchet. energon ravage. energon arcee. energon insecticon. energon galvatron. energon grimlock & swoop. energon dreadwing or as i like to called the mold G-1 scourge. cybertron blurr, primus. cybertron thundercracker, cybertron runamuck. cybertron deluxe redalert/ratchet.
cybertron metroplex. cybertron seeker jet design. titanium 6 inch rodimus prime, titanium 6 inch scourge, titanium 6 inch G-1 new mold ultra magnus. alternators prowl, alternators hound, alternators swindle. animated blurr, animaated arcee. animated wreckgar, animated ultra magnus, Rid ultra magnus. movie verse constructicons toys. botcon razorclaw. alternators liscensed jaguar car ravage. Energon Scorponok

ROTF Breakdown
ROTF Bludgeon (Wreckage repaint). Really reminds me of the Stormbringer version.
Universe Constructicons (Build Team repaints). Love Hightower/Hook and Scavenger.
I know we're on about new molds here but since WFC gave us Demolisher and Cybertron Scattershot and was obviously inspired by G1, do the AEC incarnations of said characters count as G1 characters now? Same for Cybertron Ransack who appeared in Auto Assembly's Rattrap Spotlight.

I'd also count Rotf Thrust & ROTF Dirge as beyond decent G-1 updated homage new molds.
