A Small Heads-Up Regarding Crankcase
- Motto: "u mad, GEEWUNers?"

I just picked up DOTM Crankcase about an hour ago, but already, one of his dreads is starting to shear off near the joint. I haven't touched the dreads much, so it may just be mine, but keep an eye out, just in case.

The 'joints' don't even move on mine.
Wait... 'dreads'... 'joints'... is someone trying to tell us something here?

Here's another small heads-up regarding Crankcase: He's really small!
I mean, his vehicle mode is definitely not deluxe scale, any more than DOTM Ironhide is Voyager-scale. The new Ironhide is no taller than a deluxe Bumblebee, and Crankcase is closer to scout class than deluxe.
First Star Wars, now Transformers; Hasbro is definitely downsizing, and figure scale is suffering as a result.

They're not "downsizing". The MechTech figures are smaller because more cost/materials went into making the large weapons. Aside from the MechTech figures, everything else is the same size as always, including the Legends/Legion, Scout/Commander, and Leaders. I've heard Voyager Ironhide is smaller (again, because of his huge MechTech weapon), but I have NOT heard similar complaints about Megatron, Shockwave, or Skyhammer.

For Crankcase, the SUV vehicle does look small. But for robot mode I didn't feel this was the case. I think that based on the ones I have, DOTM Crankcase and Roadbuster, they are about the right size as other Deluxes.
Here is Crankcase with Hailstorm. Granted, Hailstorm was a stocky fellow, a little smaller, but you get the general idea.

Here is Crankcase with a Scout figure, Insecticon

All in all I just love this figure. He's got so much character, and that's one thing I do appreciate about the movie figures. For all the criticisms levied against them such as racial stereotyping, I think they have individualism and character. I'd love to see how they' interpret an Asian transformer!
Where I really feel the hurt is in the Voyager class figures. It's quite hard to appreciate just how underwhelming they are from reviews until you actually see them in person. Twice I went down to look at DOTM Voyager Megatron, Ironhide and Skyhammer. Twice I walked away empty handed. I just couldn't bring myself to pay the SGD$55 for them. I might pay more for the Takaras when they come out though.

The dreads should be able to rotate on the pins they're mounted to, but the rubbery material binds and ends up bending at the base of the dreadlock. I took the head apart and cleared out some space for the "donut" part of the dreadlock. I also sanded down the pin that holds the dreads in. Now they turn freely without binding or stressing the base of the dread. HTH.

I was worried about there size but they are not as small as I thought, Roadbuster is barely smaller then rotf deluxes, its not even noticeable, Crankcase however has a tiny SUV mode

I lost one of the dreads.
The was on the step where you fold the hood back behind the head, and I was doing it as gently as I could, and all of a sudden *SNAP!* Gone.

Take that sucker back. My Wal-Mart has 25-30 of each Wave 1 Deluxe.

I couldn't get the dreads on mine to go anywhere in altmode except sticking out of the bottom. The hinges wouldn't budge at all, so I decided to just twist them off. I was pretty indifferent to them anyway so it's no real loss.
