they all have issues, but the Original Op is still the best, Megatron the WORST -( nobodies brought in the cosmic-rust which is pretty unforgivable in a modern toy, let alone an ass-expensive adult collectable Masterpiece) and the idea that Grimlock is the worst is laughable - the only thing against him is that he's just not big enough, other than that he's damn near spot-on perfect. what the heck is wrong with the hand? It actually holds the gun or the sword in a tight and stable way even with the light up feature, most other Masterpieces have issue with holding their weapons due to weak finger joints. Look at Roddy for Cripesakes, that Big Gun needs 2 Hasbro-bands to hold it in place.
The repaints are all pretty much totally unecessary, with the honourable exception of Skywarp, who's a badass.
I want more Dinos as MPs. And Shockwave. And a lot of others. No Bayformers though....

It is hard to really say any of the Masterpiece figures are "worst" or "best". It is one of those lines that has a lot of compromises. They are incredibly accurate to the character, but durability and playability are thrown out the window. As collector pieces, they all have many pros and cons. I don't think any of them are necessarily bad, but none are perfect either.

More Dinobots! Now that would be a treat! Btw, if you follow the G1 show scale, MP Grimlock is just about the right size for the 1985 G1 Optimus Prime figure among others.

Megs for the bad case of cosmic athlete's foot, spindley legs and fragile plastic clips. The Takara Rodimus is a close second. I handle mine with kit gloves in fear of paint loss and weak leg panels.

Though I don't own an MP Rodimus, MP-01 Convoy first edition has a lot of paint chipping issue. Just by handling him(no transformation) especially on his die-cast shins, heck the paint chips off at the corner angles.

Re: Who's the worst masterpiece TF?
I'd say Megatron in terms of fragility, ridiculously painful transformation, plasticky feel (especially compared to awesome Prime), flimsy construction
The most recent piece of crap quality control wise has GOT to be Rodimus Prime.

They're supposed to be, but considering how fragile their version of the most solid MP was, I can't even imagine how big a POS their version of the most fragile MP fig will be, especially once they scale it down.
Interesting. Yeah, it sounds fragile.

Seriously though, while I'll cast my vote for Megatron, he's still one of my favorites. Just because I personally like him doesn't compensate for his flaws, though - impossible transformability, the scope/arm cannon makes the arm WAY too heavy to pose, and overall he's too spindly to do much posing anyway. Plus, he's got actual cosmic rust. Seriously, wtf?
Still, despite all that I love the big lug.

Faith leader had no diecast metal parts.
So getting rid of all the diecast metal parts in the smaller salpe MP megatron. should make it more stable & lighter in the right balance area's.
the diecast feet for MP Takara megatron gave the toy loose ankle joints. the diecast metal in the hips/waist section made those areas super loose. the diecast metal back bone wire frame made the top of the robot mode too top heavy & badly un-stable in robot mode.
LASTLY & more importantly, the fusion arm canon will be normal sized & not over sized like the MP Takara megatron arm canon. having a regular arm canon should put less pressure on the robot arm & the side of the body holding up the arm canon.
BEST OF ALL,This smaller scale MP Megatron will be around 8.5 inches tall in robot mode. so it'll be in better size scale with most classics toys on display & most AEC/Animated/movie verse leader sized TF toys.
It was a shame the Takara MP Megatron was over 13 inches tall in robot mode. be he was out of scale with almost everything on various TF fans display shelves.
Most assume they use cheap plastic, but my money is one they'll use super strong/thick plastic in the right areas that will replace the diecast metal parts.
I'm honestly hoping they'll remold the MP Megatron inner face+helmet for the smaller scale version. It would be kinda cool to get a smaller scale MP Megatron inner face that resembles the Takara/hasbro 1984 megatron inner face design+helmet design.
I'm also hoping they'll include the crome sword that came pakaged with takara japanese 1984 megatron toy.

Re: Who's the worst masterpiece TF?
I like all the molds but Megatron is easily the worst of them. Just too spindly and fragile, and hard to transform. Since they're redoing Prime, I'd love to see them reattempt Megatron with a more cartoon-accurate robot mode, and maybe not be so stuck to the old G1 transformation scheme so it could still get a good gun mode. Honestly, he just needs less-spindly legs and arms and better articulation.
I actually feel the improved Rodimus mold is one of the best, aside from the hand issues. Maybe second place after Grimlock, and Starscream would be third. Prime is great but I think nowadays his styling, articulation and stability are inferior. He fits in better with the Alternators than the modern MPs. Same with Megatron, with his clunky style.
The more I think about MP-10 the more I start to feel he really is better. Just way too expensive. I think I will probably get him and then leave my 20th Prime in vehicle mode indefinitely.

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.
