The feedback Rei Jin left for other people is kind of ridiculous too and reading the neutrals they may as well be negatives mostly. I don't know either one but looks like Sid trying to put out a fair and justified warning. Seller seems like a grade A douche/bad seller IMHO. Him (the seller) pimping the system is even more of a warning sign, he's out to rip people if he can. I've bought from a few jerks like that and they're all alike. Just sayin......
I don't disagree with you at all. Not one single bit. I agree with every letter you just said. But, to be fair, look at Sid's feedback left for others and you see red flags that make him seem like a "grade A douche" as well. Particularly snarky comments that he left in response to people who left him positive feedback. Seems kind of douchey to me. Sid's neutrals may as well be considered negatives as well.
Again, REI_JIN's tactics are questionable and he might be just a regular old douche bag. But 98% of his auctions went well based on feedback provided. 98%! Thats almost as good odds as a Maury Povich paternity test. Based on feedback left, Sid is happy with his sellers less frequently than REI's customers are with him. Maybe Sid is the kind of guy who can't be made happy no matter what the seller does. And clearly, based on feedback left, even if Sid is left positive feedback, he may still try to get a snippy comment in from time to time.
All I know is that when I saw this warning about a bad ebay seller, I checked his feedback. Then I checked the feedback of the guy putting the information out to see if the guy is credible or not. Just because somebody collects transformers and has been a member of a board for a long time doesn't mean he is automatically credible. I believe we saw evidence of that recently here with the thread about the fake transformer sold at Botcon. As already stated, I saw red flags with Sid's feedback.
I just put it out there for people to consider. People can choose on their own whether to use this info or not.

To me, thats apples and oranges. I never said that neither you or REI_JIN were good or bad ebayers based on the number of feedback left or received. I took the feedback that was there, read what both of you wrote to your respective buyers/sellers and formed my own opinion. I won't dictate to you who you should and shouldn't trust or what criteria you should base that trust on.
At the end of the day, I did my own research on the matter. I saw a picture that is a little more gray than the black and white one that you portrayed. Honestly, I'm not sure I was the only one, as others in the thread questioned how the normally pro-buyer Ebay would shut down a buyer so swiftly and decisively as it apparently had in this situation. But really that doesn't matter.
I saw what I saw and presented my findings here for people to read. If they don't like them or choose to ignore or discredit them, thats their business. No skin off of my back either way.
Personally, in my view, 98% is still a pretty good number. Given the circumstances, I would probably buy something small off of REI_JIN and see how the experience goes before I bought something big. As for Sid, I hope the experience works out the best possible way for you. I wish no ill will on anyone. Its too bad when an ebay experience goes bad. There are plenty of sellers and buyers out there who ruin the experience, and thats a shame.
Best to all of you.
