Is he really dead? Or did he just erase himself from the Cybertron/Galaxy Force timeline (meaning that he could exist in other Trasformers continuities.)

His physical form is gone, he now exists completely outside of time and space.

Wasn't he seen in that montage in the final ep closing fighting Starscream or Galvatron? I forget which, but I've heard numerous people mention one of them fighting him.
