What do the forum think of sixshot?
I'm thinking about getting reissue sixshot next month and wonder what people think of him in general.

A sweet figure. I figured him for a brick, but he's one of the best bigger figures out there. All of his modes actually seem to "work," too, instead of feeling forced and lame (*ahem* Quickswitch).

amazing for a G1 toy. i never had one but to iamgine 6 modes for a toy designed in the 80's...that's pretty cool.
here's wishing Universe 2.0 would have a voyager-sized figure of this.

I think Sixshot is well worth a purchase. He is a hell of a toy, on side-note he is one of my favorite non-gestalt G1 Decepticons.

Where are you getting him? I rarely see the D98 reissue on ebay.

I actually STILL have the Sixshot I got for Christmas in 1987. My big sister bought him for me.
It was between Sixshot and Scorponok. Scoroponok was sold out so she bought me Sixshot. He is one of the very few TFs I still own from my childhood. Very good figure but I would have much rather had Scorponok to be perfectly honest.
Just please, PLEASE don't EVER call him "UNCLE SIXSHOT" under any circumstances!!!!
My brain still ACHES every time I think of that episode.
lol

I have the recent Sixshot reissue and he is fantastic. One of the better TF's of 87'. I would definitely recommend getting him to complement your recent Powermaster Prime purchase.

Anyone have any leads on where to find the reissue MISB? it is sold out everywhere I usually buy from.

You can get a smaller KO version on eBay. I don't have it, so I can't tell you the quality. However, I do know he's smaller. He's the one with purple wings, if you see him.
I do have Shadow Maru, the Brave series reincarnation of Sixshot. He's pretty cool and the different modes rock. The one I have has been remoulded, so he has a different head, and different head for his animal form.
All in all he's a cool fig.
...As for cartoon Sixshot, he's a bit annoying. However, he did kill Ultra Magnus, so he's got some caliber. Then he goes solo and befriends Daniel, personally, I think he should have killed the kid, but hey, I didn't write the show.

Sixshot is excellent. You do yourself a disservice if you don't buy him.

an excellent toy. i got the reissue and can say its VERY well made, it feels and looks perfect. easy to transform into each mode with satisfying clicks. bricklike but the legs are slightly! posable. one of my favourite toys ever and i never even heard of him until the reissues, can be got for a reasonable price, hopefully well see him again as an encore.
note all sixshot owners, when you make the car it shows the wheels to far back, the instructions miss out a step. There are grey oval pieces between the torso and arms (shoulder hunges if you will) these can be rotated 180 degrees around to bring the arms into the correct position, this results in the cars wheels being in the correct position instead of that shown even on the box. this swinging around is official as there is a small hole for the back plastic peg to fit into the new position.

Instructions? Who uses instructions?
Fantastic fig. He was never relaesed over here, but I was lucky enough to pick him up in a cash and carry which often stocked foreign toys (I managed to snag Rewind and Steeljaw, and the US 'Aquadrenchers' too). Very solid, great fun to transform, and every mode looks deliberate.

Thanks alot microclone! I've been wondering for a long time why that my sixshot couldn't have a correct wheels position as others I found on the web. I noticed the grey oval pieces before and also saw the black pegs in the gap, but I was afraid the black pegs were already stuck inside the body of the figure and they would break if I force the oval pieces to turn. Since the instructions doesn't tell you about this step, so I wasn't positive to turn the pieces.
This is really a great tip. Thanks again.
By the way, i also found when changing to Wolf mode, you could turn the oval pieces 90 degrees up (toward the wings) so that all four feet could stand flat onto the surface. Otherwise the front hands would be higher than the rear feet. See the pic below:

Indeed so. In fact, this thread made me get my Sixshot out, and he's currently next to me in that very form. Except I turn the green shoulder pieces so the wheels face outward; that gives you more room to play with the angle of the wings.

what's your budget? I got mine loose with all accessories (the only accessories is the two guns) on ebay for $40 shipped. All joints are tight (super tight on the legs like a new figure, always have hard time separating the legs) and a few sticker wears.

Really? I haven't been able to find him that cheap. But I haven't looked in quite a while, especially with the movie figure craze....

Yup. I bought it a year ago. I've seen a few bucks cheaper too. You just need to keep looking on ebay everyday. I also got the other 6-changer Quickswitch for little over $40, same condition. Quickswitch's modes suck badly comparing to Sixshot's.
UPDATE: I don't mean to make you feel bad. I just went through my receipt. I actually paid $35 for it.
