Does anyone know if Takara's Anime MP-03 Starscream came out yet? And is it better then Hasbro's? I am going to be spending my money on one, and I would like to get the best one. What I am wondering also is if one's quality is better then the other's.

You're asking about how something that doesn't exist right now compares to something that got released about two days ago. I really can't see how this needs it's own thread.

For anyone who hasn't seen Spotlight: Sledge (and why not?!), my gritty and dark fanfiction piece "Holiday" is posted here.

I don't feel I need to explain this, but by the off chance that someone has found official photos of the Takara release of USA Edition Masterpiece Starscream, I have better chances of seeing them if we have another thread.

well, aparently, the only difference with the japanese version is that it does not have the weathering that the us version has.

Yes, APPARENTLY indeed.
I have yet to see that for sure. Every photo I've seen of this figure (us or japanese) has had the weathering. Tough to tell the differences so far.

I think I read somewere that the Takkara version will be the same as the Walmart one, and that Tak is planning on making another one after Thundercracker that has no weathering.
And I think that is like well totally stupid.

i've seen the photos. complete with authentic japanese man and girlfriend holding him. he had no weathering. can't find the source pic at the moment. but it is apparent indeed.

Takara should seriously release their version with his coronation cape and crown. Even if I owned the US version already, which I don't, I'd pick that version up as well for certain. Dr. Arkeville's an unnecessary accessory.

Dr. Arkeville may be an unecessary accessory, but he was in several episodes and had more onscreen time than that ridiculous coronation garb that Starscream had for 2 minutes in the 1986 movie that everyone goes on about so much.
Sorry for the rant, just never understood why everyone gets so upset everytime a G1 rendition of Starscream gets released without coronation gear.

So there'll be three Takara Starscreams? And when was Thundercracker confirmed?

This is a simple one to answer, the majority of Transformer fans love that brief moment where Starscream FINALLY realizes his dream of truly becoming the decepticon leader.
It was an inconic moment, because it had been teased in just about EVERY episode of transformers throughout G1.
The coronation gear was SUPPOSED to be over the top because Starscream is over the top.
He had finally bested Megs, convinced the other 'cons to follow him and proven the worth of his infamous treachery. Even if it only lasted a minute or so on screen it is a staple of transformers fiction.
There is a reason that the new Diamond Select busts on preorder include Starscream AND Coronation Starscream.
I dont think we will be seeing any Dr. Arkeville busts anytime soon.
Quantity doesnt equal quality.

Hah!
As for the coronation gear, I would be patient. It is only a matter of time till some customizer starts mass producing a set and throwiong it on ebay for 50 big ones.

Are you listening Takara? Probably should try and include it with MP Screamer otherwise Justitoys is going to become famous for perfecting the masterpieces.
