really can't see where you're coming from, silverbrich - the molds may be simple and aren't particularly realistic looking but they are no way near crap, especially not with these color schemes. okay, so they aren't perfect - I only own the original FAB Ironhide and he has lame arms but other than that he's fine for what he is.
back up your opinion with a reason if you want it to be valid.

As someone on the Allspark Forums has pointed out, this silver Ironhide is in fact a homage to Go-Bots Ironhide

I disagree Senor Hugo - these are must buys for me whereas the originals are still definite passes. Thats the power of a good repaint.

I generally felt that way, too, thinking they were pale versions of the regular deluxes of the movie line.
However, I came across FAB Blackout one day and it grabbed my attention immediately. I liked the character, but Voyager Blackout had been a little disappointing. So, the next day I stopped by a TRU that was along my way and bought both Blackout and Frenzy, since my movie line couldn't be complete without SOME type of Frenzy.
After opening and transforming both, I have come away really impressed by the FABs. Blackout's transformation is fun and holds together very well in helicoptor mode, something the voyager lacks(the rear compartments become easily loose from their pegs). But Frenzy really impressed me; when I first looked at him in robot form, I wondered, "How the frick is this thing going to turn into a radio?" Well, let me tell you....it's a pretty cool process. Now if they could only have given Frenzy some metallic gray paint at certain joints, he would be amazing.
So, I missed the original FABs earlier, but I agree, these repints look really good, if just for the paint applications themselves. The FAB line doesn't have great poseability and yes, is meant more for hassle-free play for kids compared to the more advanced deluxes, but they are a real pleasant surprise and I would recommend at least 1 or 2.

I'm not sure about Ironhide, but I think Starscream is supposed to be Ramjet, Optimus is Rodimus [Prime], and Jazz is Smokescreen.

According to the names listed, Ironhide is Ironhide and Optimus is Optimus.

Smokescreen definitely looks like a go for me if they turn up in shops near me.
Glad I passed on most of these already.

Still. What would you rather have? The same toy with nothing different but a new paint job?
Or the same toy with a remolded head to go along with the new paint job?
I prefer the remold/repaint, and not just a damned regular repaint.

They look great except for Ironhide who isn't homage.
Those repaints are hot, boy! Oh, silly question: anyone knows what Ironhide is supposed to be? He is not red again.

Hey guys. I wanted to show y'all this. It's a pic of FAB Jazz, sort of "repainted" to look like Botcon Glyph (Bumblebee repaint).
Please forgive the green windows and lights

sorry but being completely blue is kinda boring. Not even the real Glyph was all blue like that - she had grey too.
