I see your point. I do work in Westminster, though, which means I get London-weighting added to my pay to compensate for the cost of living, travel, etc. Also, I don't need to spend that much. It just allows me to head out further west to visit friends without the need to buy extra tickets.

London-weighting is an extra percentage of a job's salary added to the monthly paypacket for those who work in Greater London (I think the boundary is the London Orbital but it may extend just outside of it).

All it means is that workers in Greater London get a higher salary than people who do the same job outside of Greater London. It's added because the cost of property, rent, food, transport and general living is higher within Greater London than other parts of the country. So, for example, a teacher in Greater London will get paid more than a teacher outside of Greater London, even if they do the same job at the same level with the same experience and qualifications.

So things in Greater London would cost more than they do outside? That happens here too, higher cost of living in the larger cities but I don't think we have this kinda weighting system..

Don't save for a car, save your money and save the planet instead! When you have a car, it's very hard to go back to public transport.

Several Transformers actually turn into cars, so in theory you could have both.

I like the way you think good sir.

It's really the basic things like food, rent, travel, etc. that cost more. Luxury items rarely do, although they can depending on the retailer. Toys don't cost more in Greater London than anywhere else. If they do the difference is negligible (say, one pound or so). Thinking on it, there are parts of counties that are within the London Orbital that also have London-weighting applied, even though they're not part of Greater London. The part of Surrey that is within the London Orbital being one example.

Of course, in places outside of the London Orbital, there are places that are more expensive than others. Large cities, for example, or places in Devon, Cornwall, places like Harrogate, etc. They don't have any official weighting system, as far as I know, but employers in those areas probably appreciate that their cost of living is higher and compensate their employees accordingly. I doubt they would get as much pay as employees with London-weighting, though.

No! Dont buy a car! It will cost you more...

1. Gasoline now is sooooo expensive
2. Parking rate is outradious
3. Toll fee is skyrocket
4. Yearly Car maintenance (spare parts, regular check-ups,add on accessories)puts holes in your wallet

Save your money for future TF re-stocks!

and you'll be contributing to the air pollution if you do get a car :D how much did you get the skywarp and ultra magnus set for? i've been looking for skywarp (and starscream) like, forever.

8-| urgh, please.

Military, airlines and factories contribute more to that than cars. Once the government offer us a cheaper and just as conivinent alternative and change their ways as well i see no reason why we should be forced to change our lives, especially if it means they become harder than they already are.

Not as bad as some who're trying to sell the classics toys for double or triple the price.
